Site to be shut down

adminabout 12 years ago

Unfortunately, Google decided to shut down the Adsense anyhow. I've asked for an appeal, but if they do not reply by the end of the month, I will be shutting down the site. Thanks for the good times, but I suppose it's time for me to move on.

I'm not going to listen to any further suggestions of anyone that recommends selling the site to a gambler is a good idea.
Awice > nothing
Fucking idiotic, do you really want a dead site ran by a gambler just to justify a site staying up for a tiny period until he tosses it away?
can you please tone the pessimism down thank you we're trying to find solutions here

If I were Lucid I'd take Derfel's $20,000.

GAMEOVER
In addition, I doubt lucid's in this for the money. It's only fair to him that if he feels the site's done, then it's done.
But he doesn't feel that he's done with it. He just has no other option right now. He's not shutting down the site willingly.

Why does his being a gambler have anything to do with it?

Derfel is a responsible head, however.

Extending the life of the site for another month via donations would be the most optimal option right now. And then we'll have a whole month to brainstorm ideas on what to do next, and wait for Google's appeal to go through.

Google isn't going to take a month to decide. 2 weeks, at most. However selling the site isn't a good idea because it's going to massively decay and eventually die.

I'm in for for an Awice/Derfel partnership.

This makes much more sense, thank you. I'd still say not to donate just yet until things are worked out, since this isn;'t a case of where your money will garuntee to save the site.

Any mentions of 'site buyouts' is horrible, any idea of Kickstarting shows unawareness of how Kickstarter works.

I have plenty of good ideas.

We can DDOS google.com in revenge.
deleteddeletedabout 12 years ago
Or at least we'll have a month to say our goodbyes if it comes down to that.
