Unfortunately, Google decided to shut down the Adsense anyhow. I've asked for an appeal, but if they do not reply by the end of the month, I will be shutting down the site. Thanks for the good times, but I suppose it's time for me to move on.

Are there any other alternative ad services that EM could use instead of Google Ads? I'm sure there are others out there that could suffice.
This is beyond unfortunate and I am very upset at the turn of events. We can still attempt to fix it.
Probably none that generate enough rev, though I suppose some sort of sub-plan+alternate ads could work (for a while). That isn't really a permanent solution either though.

Do you think lucid doesn't want to feel responsible for the constant negativity this site produces?
Extending the life of the site for another month via donations would be the most optimal option right now. And then we'll have a whole month to brainstorm ideas on what to do next, and wait for Google's appeal to go through.

There are but they aren't nearly as profitable.
Knowing the monthly overhead of the site would be good to know then so we can accurately budget and try to find a proper solution. Even if it's less profitable than before, sustainability is the most important. So long as the site operates in the black I don't see a real reason to shut down.
I'll tell you what happens if someone buys the site.
1) Lucid gets a nice profit, well done to him he earnt it. 2) The site itself survives it's remaining time on whatever it was bought for 3) No more bug fixes or updates(unless the invester has a dedicated developer or team) 4) More regulation. EM was kept up by money keeping it alive, anyone with the realistic amount of money to buy the site would want to do it for profit reasons.
Think how businesses and investors work. I am all for donating so we can have extra time, but begging for someone to buy the site will be extremly silly.

It's been proposed, Bronto, but ad revenue may not even be the reason for the shutdown. I agree with Bumpers, more information is needed.
We all want the site to stay up. We just need to know the detailed reasons for the shutdown.
