Site to be shut down

adminabout 12 years ago

Unfortunately, Google decided to shut down the Adsense anyhow. I've asked for an appeal, but if they do not reply by the end of the month, I will be shutting down the site. Thanks for the good times, but I suppose it's time for me to move on.

Sorry, was frustrated there.

The clear thing to do is to wait, If you want to donate, that's fine, just be aware that it might not save the site. The site needs constant adflow, not a buyout clause to keep it in a dead state for 6-12 months.
Well what most people here are looking for is a clear goal. How much money do we need to keep the site up for another month or two?
Not a lot, but there's little point.

I still don't know how risking the sites revenue ever seemed like a good idea to prove a point for riot.

I guess the only thing that matters now is how to fix it though.

Don't panic yet. We have 4 days to figure out a solution. If it comes to where lucid has to shut down the site, we'll say our goodbyes then. Try and stay positive.

We don't know, which is why I think it's too early for a donation rush before we can clarify the situation. A clear goal is not a purchase of the site.

I feel just as bad for my involvement, but Arc don't kick yourself over and over because Mikalis is the one who fired the shot in the end.

I wish I had more assets to put in the hat. My position is basically nothing, I'm sorry I have no real way to help.

There's actually nothing [0 things] wrong with Derfel being owner. He's a teacher, in fact.

I'm not going to listen to any further suggestions of anyone that recommends selling the site to a gambler is a good idea.
Awice > nothing
Fucking idiotic, do you really want a dead site ran by a gambler just to justify a site staying up for a tiny period until he tosses it away?
Yes

I can see about learning Ruby I guess if it comes to that... I will spend the day looking into a few things. Basically though, we just hope the appeal goes through.

Idk maybe see if Google has any buttons to push on this matter by looking through their documentation?

I'll let you know if I turn anything up....... I'm so, so sorry for my role in this.
you had no role in it. someone hating on you + doing x doesnt make it your fault.

I do not agree with selling the site off to someone else, I think we should wait this out, give it a month, if we have a month. Things will work out.

In addition, I doubt lucid's in this for the money. It's only fair to him that if he feels the site's done, then it's done.
But he doesn't feel that he's done with it. He just has no other option right now. He's not shutting down the site willingly.
"Thanks for the good times, but I suppose it's time for me to move on."

I'm aware you wanted to be modded at one point, but kicking a site while it's down isn't the best idea.
Anthonyabout 12 years ago
Lucid, I really hope you choose to wait longer for the appeal. Just tell us how much money you need to operate the site for say another month or two, to wait until the appeal goes through.

Why does his being a gambler have anything to do with it?
Sorry, I should have mentioned that having a site admin that said nothing in games is a perfect fit for EM.

If I were Lucid I'd take Derfel's $20,000.
