sure, at the end of the day, no one is truly stopping anything
a gamethrow alt is still a gamethrow alt, a racist is still a racist, and for every one banned there will be 10 more that pop up
but the rules are still there for a reason, and it's the mod's job to make those rules and uphold them to the best of their abilities
even if all they're doing is inconveniencing someone and making them continually remake their account and use vpns, they're still doing something and it's literally not possible for them to do more
allowing free use of slurs doesn't solve this and just makes the site a miserable place to be
I’m not disagreeing w your opinions at all i just don’t see why not at the very least try and stop slurring too and now try and find a way to also lessen racist / sexist / homophobic rhetoric and behaviors altogether ??
Nah, the problem here is moral vanity. If they truly cared about 'eliminating racism', as purported by this very likeable and agreeable rule, they would devise a proper racism rule that encompasses all racist connotations.
.... except that rule already exists, it's called hateful comments. It's just not moderated properly, especially because they treat it as an if-then rule. This is literally hateful comments under a new name specifically used for race so that it makes them look like they're contributing.
zhuorb the difference is the rapist is being put in prison where they can't (or, shouldn't be able to) rapé (I love how rapé is censored but rapist isn't, good job censorship team), banning a person from a website just results in them rejoining the site, it's a temporary fix and a really shítty bandaid
again, this is true of literally every violation on the site, and because it's the internet, really sh*tty bandaids are all they have
that's the point though isn't it? you aren't stopping anything

correct, however, a bandaid is still better for protection than an open wound lol

here's the thing, you're not making someone less racist by banning a word - they're still thinking it, they're just saying something else
just don't stick around with people you don't like
the point of the rule isn’t to try and reform racist people, it’s to attempt to protect others from being victims of racism.
how are you protecting them if the word has already been said?
the point is so it doesn't happen again
that's like saying "why give gamethrowing vios if they already threw the game"
it's to show that it's not acceptable behaviour, and make the person that did it and other people see that there are repercussions for their actions
