Ace is obviously not included within LGBT, but why not LGBTQ+? I can see that there's clear expectations to desire sex and romance.
If someone lacks a sex drive, they'll typically be advised to try to boost it - like something's wrong with them. Even aros have faced stigma (spinsters?) although I can't recall modern examples.
There might be a backlash in the LGBT community for being expected to be treated as a support group for every non cis non heteronormative human bean, but if the point is to fight discrimination based on people's genders and sexualities then Aces deserve acceptance.
Yeah, Ulma, I'm sure it's causing you some great oppression to just allow people who go through *similar* (not the same, because everyone would go apesh*t) issues and judgement, into a group that deals with those things. In the past, they've been pretty easily accepted but then Tumblr happened and turned against asexuals, gay trans people, straight trans people (separate issues) and trans feminists.
This poll is confusing. I've had an Ace friend before. And just to clear the air, Ace people aren't gay. So the options are either, they're gay or they're not gay.
Obviously they're not gay. But this poll doesn't exactly answer to what the OP says. That Ace people aren't recognized.
to continue with the derailing transmeds have one point that imo is pretty important and it's that demedicalising being trans can make a whole lotta people lose insurance coverage for things they absolutely need to transition. tho i don't know enough to tell if it's an unfounded concern or not bc otherwise yeah transmeds are noxious
imho cis people who try to gatekeep transgender communities top the list for the Most Pathetic People to Ever Exist in the History of Modern Civilization
i think we're getting off topic but if people really wanna get into dysphoria and trans conversation ill be waiting in a ditch off the side of the turnpike
tbh i don't get the whole needing dysphoria debate. surely if you're not cis you have some kinda dysphoria that led you to realise that ? not a fan of truscum tho they're annoying
If you dyed your hair blue, was it because you had dysphoria about your natural hair color or was it just because you wanted blue hair?
Different people will say yes or no. Most will say no. That's how some people feel about transitioning or presenting as something other than their birth sex.
Some people just wanna be seen as androgynous without medically transitioning and without having that much dysphoria either. They just prefer to be treated as androgynous. Are you saying they are wrong for wanting that?
they meant the people who think you need severe dysphoria to be trans
tbh i don't get the whole needing dysphoria debate. surely if you're not cis you have some kinda dysphoria that led you to realise that ? not a fan of truscum tho they're annoying
