NOMINATIONS ARE OVER

Greetings everyone!

I'll take on the tradition started by Nitroxium for a few years and continued by aquarius last year.

Basically this is a competition to pick the best user of the year.

What should you take in mind for this? EVERYTHING! From how good they are at playing the game, to how much you like them personally, and everything else you can think of.

In this thread you will post your nominations. They can be as many as you want, and you can also nominate yourself.

Every nominated user will be taken in mind. And I will add users that weren't nominated but I feel like they deserve to be in the competition.

This competition is supposed to be about current players, or at least players that added a lot to the site in 2016. People who haven't played much or at all since 2015 shouldn't be nominated.

This competition is also supposed to be a Sandbox thing. So users that mainly play in other lobbies will not be taken in mind.

I will need a certain specific amount of players, so there is a chance that not everyone nominated will be in the final competition, but I will try to add the big majority, and I will ask people who they think are the less deserving of being in the competition out of the ones in doubt.

There will be a total of 256 players with groups of 4 each.

The 2 of each group that pass to the next round will be passed on to the next round and from there on it will be a regular bracket tourney, made in Challonge.

But I'll tell you more about that later.

For now, drop your nominations. They can be either posted here or pm'd to me.

Also if someone does NOT want to be in this, you can also let me know either in private or here, and I will nullify your nominations.

Nominations will go up till either December 8th or December 10th.

From there on, the group stage will last around 5 days, and every other round will last around 2 days.

I nominate Tigermom, Herredy, Warlock1268, and DouradaGrelhada for being the people who make the chat box worthwhile (SHUT IT DOWN)

I nominate sl0nderman and Foxie, sl0nd for his work on his guide to making effective roles and Foxie for her help with role production and EMjack, of course.

I nominate Lucidrains for making an online mafia simulator that I enjoy being a very super famous person on.

I nominate Christopherzilla, Platypops, gardenfulloflies, Bebop and Jimbei for being the best Sandbox owners (barring myself, of course.)

I nominate BaneofMafia, Izzy, Ben, Desta, Ayd, Dag, Entil, and OhLookACat, just because.

I nominate bdog1321 for being demodded by error after getting into an argument with EM user zahhaks.

I nominate JamalMarley for being the absolute funniest player in this lobby. Everyone who seriously fails to recognize his satire is worse off than an Irishman in 1729. I also nominate Ruiyang for being the second-funniest player here.

I nominate LastProphet, because even if nobody values his thoughts it's the thought that counts.

I nominate Ace, Tidus and Musume.

I nominate FilthyLawn, Spineman, PlutonianLigon, Kyanite, JimClassico, AsanteSanaSqashBnana, BlackLucio, Vimos, YHWH, Nynite, TedTonate, LeftSharky, potatoz, BigBulldog(e) and Rogelio, for being actual Mafia players.

I know she's already been nominated, but I nominate Golbolco. Golb cares about the community, has worked for it endlessly, and is one of the friendliest people I've ever encountered on EM. I can't think of anyone who deserves it more.

It says Sandbox user, not Sandbox player, to be fair.

Sandbox has many users who don't play because talking in chatbox is pretty fun as is. You don't have to play games to be a part of the community.

Commenting on the poll: I think that Golbultima got a lot better once I made it 15-player 2-mafia. I guess that's what it was missing this whole time.

everyone can use whatever criteria they want for this. if you want to nominate only good players, then you can do that and also only vote for the better players at games in future rounds of the competition

I agree with what Jamal said, it should be game players only. Then we can see who scrambles to try and prove they play sandbox so that they can participate in the popularity contest.

You know poking fun at people before a competition where they'll be voting for who they like the most isn't the best move you could take


I do not sugarcoat things like you are used to in life. The fact is that this prestigious title of "Best Sandbox User" is being treated as a joke with nominations of people such as Blister, Art, TheStyleAisle, Dia, Ashe, etc.. Half of these nominees do not even play games of mafia regularly and are stationed in the chatbox 24/7, the other half are mediocre players at best when they do play mafia.

Their level I have surpassed -- I am on an entirely different level than these users. So high. To not nominate me is to disrespect what this competition is really about -- the best user.

Of course, and I do everything in this lobby. Many of the users nominated thus far do not do everything. Users like Blister do not play mafia. How can you consider him worthy of the title of Best Sandbox User if he does not even participate in games?

Then you look at me. I participate in games, forum and wall discussions, I suggest roles and polls, I find many bugs and have Lucid fix them, I protect everyone from moderator abuse, I have abuses of power overturned, I am the top dog and I protect my people and make sure they have a good time here.
