Everyone wants their role to be added. This isn't for everyone.
While lucid is actually active at present, this thread is for fixing roles and mafia-related features. Improving the game itself is more important than adding a bunch of role clones.
Yeah I think this change is for the best. I'm the kind of person who thinks that anything should be included, even variations, for the sake of completeness, but it's really only practical to have one version of this role.
So, yes, the Scrutineer should behave more closely to voodoo. It should not, unlike voodoo, have only a 50% chance to work because that was a terrible change.
they're not very distinct, the scrutineer is already a "vote voodoo," what do you call two vote voodoos?
here's how the diabolist should work
1. rename it to scrutineer 2. the scrutineer predicts who someone will vote if they predict correctly, the voter will die the scrutineer can not predict that he himself will be voted (balancing)
What if the diabolist is someone who curses someone to die if they vote a certain player, like cub mentioned earlier.
although, it could be made competitively viable if it predicts who a person will vote rather than triggering if a person changes their vote
that would be a better implementation overall
And the scrutineer keeps the original idea. Or is that too rehash-y
The way I see it is that this proposal would be best for the Scrutineer and the Diabolist. While their purposes are similar, they are distinct enough from my point of view to warrant a new addition.
Wait so I'm unclear on what Role Mods were actually originally intended for. I remember when they repurposed them into the anti-cheating task force like xxerox and cub said, but what was their original purpose?
That ! Anti-Cheating squad from Ex-Cheaters and banned users.
I still want to discuss the diabolist. Should it be kept as it is, changed to be more viable competitively, or add a separate role? I would prefer the 3rd option but I concede that it is not practical to do so.

But, the original plan was like i said. PLAN , but plan is just a plan untill someone goes off script and starts doing whatever they want , ignoring rules and pre- made plans.
ive never seen role mod called role model, i have seen moderators call them role moderators
Because the admins rined it. They started moding people from the role mods, because the mods were leaving, and role mods were the next best thing. Then they started putting others in the role mod place ruining it further.
lucid since you're making roles bring back the use of role moderators for their intended purpose
Role mod's purpose was to catch cheaters, and they were supposed to be ex banned users, ex cheaters with no chance to be real mods any time soon.
that has nothing to do with roles
role moderators have been repurposed for several reasons, one such repurposing is what you just mentioned and i was a part of
That was the original purpose, you fool.
Role Mod = Role Model.
Role Model that even a cheater/banned user can progress and redeem themselves, but still to show that they can't be mods . All this to show that people should not cheat or else they will never be moderators and all they can every do is to catch cheaters like them.
