The mods have decided to change how we will treat hipfiring from this point forward. Since now, Moderators have been treating hipfires on a different basis depending on it being red heart game or a gold heart game, giving trolling for red hearts and gt for gold hearts. This is counter-intuitive because not all hipfiring is exactly GT, given that it requires intent and is only sub-optimal at times. This has been discussed and changed in mind of the coming round(s), in which it will come down to moderator discretion on whether the hipfire is trolling/gt. This does not mean that you should go and hipfire your friends, as GT will still be given accordingly for those who shoot players out of grudge or into near autoloss situations.
Nobody is going to be favoring friends with this rule, it's purely because hipfiring is not always GT nor is it always trolling therefore it's unfair to the site and users to give them violations they didn't actually commit. If you ever disagree with a violation that we give (or don't give) you're free to and encouraged to appeal the decision. None of us want an incorrect verdict, which is exactly why the precedent is changed now.
By leaving it up to mod discretion, there can be compromise because not all mods have the same ideas when it comes to everything. I think this is something people forget.
"We couldn't agree here so each mod is going to do whatever he wants!"
Anyways, on a more serious note, you can not judge intent because you're not a mind-reader. Just set it to automatically be trolling thank you kind sir

Look, this is simple. The argument isn't what is and isn't trolling and gt. It's about whether we leave it up to mod discretion. You mods are bad at that. There is endless precedent showing you suck s'hit at discretion because you favor friends and are harsher on nonfriends.
My argument is hipfiring is always trolling and grudgeshooting is always gt. Whether the game is competitive or red heart makes no difference

why do you use so many question marks dahlia hawthorne?
As long as something has multiple potential motivation then it should have differing potential violations depending on said motivations no??
You can't read people's minds man. . .
does it mean I can get reported for gamethrowing for every lylo I've got wrong?

vancy, if i shoot somebody and don't give them a chance to claim, is it hipfire?
No. As long as you have the potential for reads it cannot be clearly labelled a hipfire. You're playing in a setup with guns, if you want a clear and concise lynch then don't play with that element of spontaneity.

My answer would be no there, because I believe that hip-firing is only sub-optimal and I believe as long as it seems like you had a genuine read on someone, that it's only trolling/note at best. Believe me, I'm someone who hipfires all the time.

It doesn't make sense for the same situation to be explicitly trolling in one game and explicitly gamethrowing in another, based simply on whether a game is a gold heart or not. Calm your t*ts people.
This mod admits he can't tell the difference between a grudge shot and a hipfire
Then make it the same for both? What do you need mod discretion for?
Because if someone hipfires and does it purposefully to lose its gamethrowing and if they're just doing it with a f**k attitude it's trolling, silly! Gamethrowing requires intent you can't just say X is always gamethrowing!
Then say X is always trolling. Problem solved my friend
