The mods have decided to change how we will treat hipfiring from this point forward. Since now, Moderators have been treating hipfires on a different basis depending on it being red heart game or a gold heart game, giving trolling for red hearts and gt for gold hearts. This is counter-intuitive because not all hipfiring is exactly GT, given that it requires intent and is only sub-optimal at times. This has been discussed and changed in mind of the coming round(s), in which it will come down to moderator discretion on whether the hipfire is trolling/gt. This does not mean that you should go and hipfire your friends, as GT will still be given accordingly for those who shoot players out of grudge or into near autoloss situations.
The difference was that hipfire in goldhearts could only yield a GT violation. This change makes it so it can also be a Trolling violation depending on the context. Its nothing huge really.
you're never going to be able to tell whether or not someone is doing a grudge hipfire. it will be the same as when a troll randomly votes or grudge votes someone at the start of d1 and never unvotes, but doesn't get a vio because all they have to do is say "they reacted badly". a troll can just wait 30 seconds before shooting and then appeal the report saying "they were scummy i'm just an awful player" and the mods can't prove them wrong. what was the point in making this thread? it was already moderated under the mods discretion.
Can we please make it so that hipfiring me is gt? Some people don't mind being hipfired. But I take this very seriously. People hipfire me because it's fun to troll me. A trolling vio is too less a punishment. It doesn't matter if they try hard after killing me. I wanna play the game.
At best, you'll get away with a trolling violation instead of a GT one. Im not sure why you guys think its such a huge deal, most people IMO hipfires for n giggles yet tryhard the rest of the game, making it closer to an act of trolling than gamethrow. The old standard was to give GT regardless which already dished out multiple wrong violations, so this is for the better.
Well if we take this thread by example you're the only one to have kept your composure, props to you mate good work

Coming down to mod discretion means 70% will be wrong
I mean this is kinda fair. You need capable mods if you want to enforce rules with discretion, otherwise the next time an A&D variant is comped, there'll be something like 30 threads whining about it. 25 of which will surely be written by pranay.
