The mod team has recently been discussing how to moderate hipfiring. The current precedent is to consider it a trolling violation in red heart games and a game throwing (GT) violation in competitive games.
We're deciding between the current precedent and two other options.
Trolling throughout. The idea behind this is that game rules are game rules and that moderation should be standardized between red and gold heart games.
Game throwing throughout. This plays to the idea that the action of hipfiring is generally done without "playing to win" and as such falls under game throwing.

We're playing epicmafia, not Russian Roulette or RNG games. You're supposed to fire based on input during day meetings, if you hipfire at the beginning of the day, its gamethrowing since you're playing against your win condition. If you gun down your genuine scumread after sufficient input without asking for a claim, I do not think its GT or Trolling.
Why is this a rule? If my hipfire loses the game its gt, but on an ml i dont see the problem. Do i have to let my maf read fish the pr before im allowed to shoot them?
You may as well make it against the rules to hammer without claims too if this is a rule.
Edork said it best. When people hipfire, they're not intending to lose or not caring about winning. Most people who hipfire, still want to win. They just want to be the hero and find mafia.
