seeing as though i just got perma banned for using the phrase "mentally challenged" as an insult, can you mods create an official list of words/phrases that are HC?
also mods should not be allowed to self-moderate HC reports anymore because that's stupid. if one mod is offended by something they just auto-HC it when it's not even HC

i just don't get why u guys are taking this moral highground, you're right in the sense that he meant to call xy and z rtarded, you're wrong in the sense that he knowingly broke the rule which is why solace ot'ing the vio was fine (harassment wasn't fine but it was half justice something I as an internet lawyer could call a win)

I don't think cutting someone down by comparing them to the mentally handicapped is quite on the same level as calling someone a na.zi, I was just sharing some nostalgia for that time vilden went through 3 days of sandbox wall lobby comments to find this.

Ok so real talk, wasn't the whole reason the filter was implemented was because a pedophile got adminned or modded and riotkiller(??) reported it to google? So Lucid trying to get back in googles good graces made the filter, i really dont think its something that should be so strict that we can't post a pic/link from twitter because it contains naughty words.
This is the core misunderstanding with the rule modification. Several clarifications: 1) An insult is not what is considered HC-- what is considered HC is when a user replaces a slur with a phrase that they *reasonably* expect another user to interpret as the slur. Clearly if you call someone an idiot, there's not a reasonable expectation that will be interpreted as a slur, whereas calling someone mentally handicapped or challenged has the explicit connotation. 2) To add more nuance, a user's history of HC and perceived intent is taken into account. In this specific case, vilden was just viod for using the r word (and had a previous HC vio and another note for HC) and then came back and used a synonymous phrase. His intent was clearly to convey the same hateful speech as the slur. The rule is contextual.
