this isnt a complaint and it is epicmafia related (words we can and can't use ingame)

seeing as though i just got perma banned for using the phrase "mentally challenged" as an insult, can you mods create an official list of words/phrases that are HC?

also mods should not be allowed to self-moderate HC reports anymore because that's stupid. if one mod is offended by something they just auto-HC it when it's not even HC

I just feel such power coursing through me every time I give someone a hateful comments violation. It's addicting. It feels like pure adrenaline being pumped through my entire body. I can't stop giving out the vios, the suspensions, the bans, it's what I live for now. I can't stop. Just being able to ruin other people's fun, that's what's good in life, being able to tell others what to do. I'm too timid in real life to do it but behind a computer no one can find me and it's just so...empowering. Don't be jealous just because I'm a moderator on a lighthearted party game website and you're not. I found my meaning in life, and I worked hard for it, and you should have to do the same. Maybe if you work hard enough you can be as strong and as important as me one day.

If that user changes their behavior to simply not use a slur, and not to convey the same slur simply in different words, they will not get the vio. It's simple, don't use hateful speech; changing behavior to abide by the rule will only entail not using slur substitutes, and the guiding principle of intent and reasonable expectation checks against the overextension that some have hyperbolized w/r/t examples like "idiot" could be HC.

Conversely, if a user unintentionally uses a phrase that could be interpreted as a slur but does not *intend*/reasonably expect for it to be interpreted as a slur, they will not get a vio.

This is called censorship. You're not the authority when it comes to slurs, nor should you redefine words and context to associate meanings that aren't present.

No one that has received a violation for using the R-word meant any harm or disrespect towards those with special needs. In the definition there is a clause to use it to refer to stupidity, and that casual use can't be replaced by trying to redefine social values that aren't widely accepted by anyone except those you choose to let moderate.

So no you don't get to claim "intent" to ban Vilden for saying "mentally challenged" towards someone, especially in light of not enforcing the same rule which is the reason why this topic wont die.

This is false and intellectually dishonest so lets stop and address it:

You insist on making this claim despite the word having a casual definition by which 100% of people that have posted it on this forum use it, but as a team the mods have gone out of their way to redefine this to justify their position. Regurgitating a lie repeatedly doesn't make it true. Demanding contrast when none is implied literally or contextually doesn't make it true. It's one thing to censor words, but don't associate values that aren't present when doing so.

That is essentially what we just did, with a guiding principle instituted for grey zone's like Vilden's.

Note that consistency in the grey zone is astoundingly difficult and eliminating it entirely with only a word list with no further jurisdiction is a bad idea.
