Allowing mafia to make the call whether- and who to kill is actually more consistent with pre-meteor than giving them the obligation to kill because they were the ones in control before meteor wasn't a thing.
That is, whenever he decides to come out of his bear-like hibernation stage to decide it's worth doing anything for this community.

Tatami we've been in touch with Lucid regarding this several times already. There's going to be an absolutely miniscule amount of "neverending" games, just like it was pre-meteor.
Just have everyone in the town claim that they are doctor and that they are saving who they saved before. Now given mafia knows this information, that's GT for mafia to kill the clear because everyone in the town claimed doctor saving the person they saved before, so the doctor technically claimed out loud that they were saving the clear. :P

It might be worth a testrun without any meteor at all, or having it be a setup option, rather than having it be mandatory.
Benefit of second option is obvious, benefit of first is to test how many infinite games there will actually be. I'd be willing to bet you'd see a lot of infinite games after immediate removal, but that the number would go down pretty quickly.

It honestly looks as though the meteor introduces more problems than it solves.
It avoids infinite games, particularly ones where it's 4 way MyLo no clears and the mafia refuse to kill, but it introduces a lot of problems with how to handle saves and clears.
I think having meteor always be on mafia, but having a docsave reset it is a decent idea. This introduces infinite games in only two cases-one where mafia is stubborn and refuses to kill anyone but the clear (but in this case I think it's obvious they will pretty quickly, though it too runs into the "sporting" trap) and one where mafia is in autoloss (doc/watcher+2 unclears) which will be resolved by town lynching.
To be clear, I don't think this a perfect solution by any means-I think competitive mafia as a whole is broken beyond repair, but this might be a "better" solution than traditional meteor.
Important to note that allowing mafia to force doctor to no save and keeping current meteor mechanics is a fine solution, but by doing this you break every setup that has a doctor.
this is not a new rule. This rule has been there ever since the meteor was introduced. But the many noob mods failed to implement it while doing reports.
21 people have singed the petition. 3 or 4 people at max, some of which don't even play mafia, made this choice to change the decision by themselves. How is that fair?
