Shitposting and unfriendliness seem to be used as an excuse not to listen to the forums, though.

I think that's partially true in some extent but it is still an issue nonetheless.

Just like you and the rest of the mod have ignored me and how I feel. I've expressed it in topics I have started to even sending private messages to mods and the admin.

What gives? Why do you guys think it's okay to ignore some, but listen to others?

I read your post. Just because I didn't respond to it didn't mean that I didn't see it. Or that the other moderators didn't.

there are people who were given chances to moderate that should have but removing them now wouldn't solve anything. making me admin would solve everything

1. Like who
2. You'd have to change lucid's opinion

does it matter. they're mods now. until someone actually does something wrong there's no reason to demod them

You'll see a thread come up about what we have in mind in regards to the forums. It was originally meant to only be about that but I wanted to cover the site as a whole because the forums is just one of it.

I think I'm pretty reasonable when it comes to the actual game, which I care about. I just don't give a dang about having a healthy internet community of e-friends. I'm here to play the game.

Take Rutab's 100 page thread. It brought up some very valid points, it was pretty easy to get the message from it. But it was ignored because of the unfriendliness and the shitposts.

If we start proposing stricter rules, people are going to start moaning about them too... I personally at least prefer to keep the Complaints section a serious section and any attempt to derail the thread or excessive harassments etc should be moderated so it is more productive.

You guys have wonderful ideas but I'm not sure why it takes a survey to vocalize them. I suppose it's the current state of the forums

I think a lot of good ideas are vocalized on the forums, and ignored by a mod team who assumes the forums are incapable of being reasonable or productive (which is not true).

There are good ideas that I try to pay attention but inevitably get buried in the amount of shitposting and unconstructive posting we have to deal with

Threads like this should be heavily moderated, and off topic posts should be deleted. Now that off topic is back we have a GREAT place to post and circlejerk. Serious topics about the game should be more heavily moderated. That is not to say impose faux friendliness, but remove posts that derail serious discussion. Serious discussion about the game is something we could use more of.

I'm working on implementing something like this to spoil the surprise

Did Kino account-share with Gary as a mod or not

Yes, she did

Why is she still a moderator

I've been asking that for a few months now

Well it looks like the admins just suck

I felt accepted in the community in the start:

Disagree 62 23%
Strongly Disagree 73 27%

Thats almost half of the players -.-

How long have you been on Epicmafia?

I just joined today 5 2%

this is the truth ...

I'm a proponent of a revamped mentor system with mentors dedicated to teaching more advanced gameplay. The current mentor system is pretty worthless. Some good players have come out of it but I would argue that those players would have been good anyway, on their own merit.

I can';t comment on the Sandbox issues as I don't really go there, but I agree that it seems to be controlled by certain people and it seems a hell of a lot less friendly to new people than it used to be.

Im just quoting :/

"Bring back refunds for ranked games. It's unfair to everyone else that has to waist a heart because someone GTs, and to leave it up to moderator discretion, because the only game I've actually had refunded since they were taken away was a game with a mod in it."

Another quote . Do you guys realise half of the complains are the same things i am complaining about -.- all the time -.-

I am loath to use myself as an example, but take Bad Boyz. They controlled the forums pretty much, and they were very very very aggressive. But their point of view w/r/t mafia was actually quite a common one at the time, and they had mods who agreed with them and were even part of their group (Me, Retti, Vigoroth). That's not to say Bad Boyz were a good thing, but they were a product of their time. And whilst I was a moderator, I was part of the community AS WELL.

You always need a balance between the different groups on the site being represented in the mod team, but there isn't one now. It's just friendship.

My opinion wasn't listed and I think that I put in detail into my answers.

But here goes again.

I know being a mod is stressful, but a lot of the mods are biased and rude and live on a high horse.
You're the moderator of an online site, not a police officer for the city of Townsville. I do agree that you shouldn't be mad because a mod gave you an actual violation, but sometimes the vio is too extreme or not well thought out.
This whole Jericho thing got out of hand and it took him forever to step down and what not. The people who are mods aren't very good and the only way to become a mod is if you fit into a certain clique or group. Sometimes I believe that's all it takes to be a mod here. Just know everyone on the staff and have them pick you. Not because you actually give a crap about the site, but because they are all friends and friends do what their friends do.

Ive been playing this game for 4.5 years and I have definelty seen a decline in players and this site as a whole.
