I ran the program for a while and some users became pretty good players, but just because most users didn't become great doesn't make the program a failure.
Everybody has their own goals in the program. When I was a mentor and when I ran the program I made sure that everybody's goal was met. And maintaining the mission statement was crucial to the program's success.
I haven't followed/tracked the program since I resigned. It doesn't seem to be as popular as it once was (likely because I haven't seen the signup thread get posted in as much of late) but I'm from the outside looking in now and I really am in no position to give a serious opinion on it's current state. I handed it to Ucklar when I left and I trust that he has done a good job with it.
(I posted the above a few days ago)
A lot of activity happens via private messanging, this is another reason why results are not often evident.
I applaud the efforts that went into the recent survey. Like all growing complex systems, epicmafia will need to learn to respond to its changing environment. I hope that the site will move towards more mafia content and away from a platform for blatant 'internet culture' and 'cults of personality'.
anything with coding is done by lucid and he's not always here but we can add it to the list of things to talk to him about when he checks in

Sounds like a lot of issues with Main Lobby/Comp atmosphere for a lot of users basically- that's what I got out of the comments... besides people being unhappy with the Mods. I think that's just the current 'h8 all authority' that is going around the country/world these days. As someone who casually enjoys this site; the Mods are doing fine, most days we don't have any major problems with trolls etc. People who are giving these guys crap/spending their time riding the Mod's butts (besides the actual bad eggs) need to chillax some.
Also, the ranked community actually isn't harsh enough, not the opposite. You used to be seriously lambasted and made extremely uncomfortable when you tried to do stupid stuff in a competitive game by top mouthbreathers like Voltron, and I think it did wonders for the winrate of the average player. The average winrate is around 45% nowadays.
Anyway, the only thing to take away from this survey is that the mentorship program failed and will never succeed, and that most of the mods are terrible.
Biggest problem. I'd oust the admin and pick a new one who isn't afraid to delete the entire mod team and take applications to rebalance it. Most of them are dreadful.
I'm sure you probably hear this all the time but can we for real do SOMETHING about the suicide bug that stops people from voting sometimes when a person suis. I mean if it can't be fixed I understand but I'd at least like to know it can't be fixed instead of wondering when it will be... Thank you in advance for answering. (^_^)
"I love d***." lol. Also Hi CindyChiang and welcome back

This is a catastrophe. I can not process the agony of my mind.

I like and get on with Calvin, but I'd have demodded him for lying to the community and I told him as much. And frankly, it would've saved him from 100 pages of harassment, too.

It was nice when the mods weren't unionized.

Demodding these people won't lead to more huge 'Demod Threads', either. If the community knows the mods will be demodded if theyre bad they're a lot more patient and they're comfortable the admin will get the job done.
Whereas now the only way to get rid of a mod is to spew vitriol at them til they get tired and leave, a la Jericho. Are you honestly saying that's better than just removing people interally?
Trinity is comped. I replaced it with a&v which was the most played setup 4 rounds ago.

it's actually something i was wondering about. for example, the detective will always see the actress on the first night because her suit doesn't apply before his investigation. so it would be plausible for the actress to be fully revealed on the first night

I will Shivv, thank you very much. You're a great poster and a great mafia player!
