people have to join red heart games before the gold ones, jen. there's a point limit on competitions. it's the training lobby/redheart community that's the problem, tbh
too long to quote so i'm just going to mark each part i'm replying to @DaigoTsuwabuki
mentoring: there are some good mentors, and some that are less active. if you want to be part of mentorship i'm sure we could find you an active mentor to help get you into main some more.
main lobby: try joining red heart games first before the gold ones. if you're feeling intimidated you can pm me and i'll join a game with you if i'm on at the time. i'm not that good though :C i remember being intimidated by games a long time ago but it's a lot easier if you know someone/someone explains how things work to you beforehand and you get to play the setup a couple times from both sides
wiki: this was honestly the most talked about thing in feedback, with ~12 people mentioning it but it's a big, big project so hopefully we'll get to it soon
customs/anything else coding-wise: nothing will change here unless lucid wants it changed
you should feel free to speak your mind in the forums! they might seem intimidating but most people are lovely and won't pick on you. it's nice to see new people giving their opinions and posting and thank you for taking the time to write out so much :)

I don't really feel the whole mod-hate thing. I was never close with moderation/moderators. I don't report people. I don't get reported (or if so, I don't know it). I'm not familiar with the mods or know what they've done outside of those custom lobbies I've been to, but those aren't real mods. From what I'm reading, some stuff needs to be changed, but I can't give real input.
Also: Can we actually have the wiki be worked on and stuff? I learned how to play certain set-ups such as weewrol hunter, hot potato, dinner, bleeders/trees vs voodoo, and roulette because I was lucky to play fandom games, but I basically only know those, random roles, and 12p closed role.
And maybe bump up some percents, ie bring voodoo to 65% over 50%. They were nerfed too much (but did need SOMEthing).
And to who said get rid of custom lobbies: NO NO NO PLEASE DONT!! There are sooOOO many games that happen in those lobbies, even if many are dead. Maybe they should be deleted automatically if no game is played after a while (Maybe 2 months?), but please. Keep the Dangan Ronpas out of Sandbox. We don't need all those locked games again. I also like to host private games in this one lobby and it makes a great place when my friends do several. They can wait in there for when a new one is up and not risk not seeing it because of how quick new games are made in popular lobbies.
I dunno. I feel like I'm not allowed to speak here since I don't Main Lobby. At all. Seriously, I've played approx a collective total of 10 games from Main/Training (when it was around). But uh, here's my input to this all. Also sorry this was so long.

Okay so I've never tried mentoring. I was going to but I asked around and people said it was awful save for maybe 1 or 2 mentors so I didn't. So that could probably be fixed.
Also I was reading some replies and I really love the idea of a lobby for beginners to serious mafia games. I tried to learn to play serious, back when training was around. But my first game, I explained I was new to serious and had only played unserious games and I was still basically yelled at and blamed for everything wrong I was doing so it kinda shed me away. I'd totally love a lobby where it's for serious mafia but it's a lot more relaxed and intended for newbies. And hey, maybe we could STOP DUMPING NEW PLAYERS INTO MAIN LOBBY and put them in there.
No seriously. Dumping new players into Main is really, really bad. I've deleted all the alts I've ever tried Main on, but each game was basically awful. The one I described above is just significant because it was my first and thus left me with the most imprint. Maybe the beginners lobby will stop letting you in after a certain amount of points are wracked up? And then you can go to Main or whatever.
I basically Sandbox anymore. I hate it there, tbh. The people are awful, but I've learned to tolerate it because it's Sandbox. But there's constant trolls and gamethrowers and mafia-partner outters and sui game-breaking (PLEASE FIX THAT BTW!!! PLEASE!!!) which make me just hang out in the chat and sh!tpost all day. I used to swing by small lobbies (particularly ColorMafia and the Phoenix___Mafia lobbies), but they're all basically dead, so Sandbox is my only option. Main Lobby is absolutely terrifying to me, though I really would love to play serious games.
I liked the mentoring program, hedger helped me out a lot on my main account. I also know that he helped out LadyNemesis a lot too. we were both running a few rounds back and he sent us really detailed pms reviewing our games and giving us tips and stuff like that.. not sure if other mentors did that but I thought it was really cool
