There have been complains and what not. So I'd like to conduct a poll on the em public of whether most people generally support, or do not support the merge of training and competition lobbies?
there were good qualities to both merged and separate lobbies, but in the end i think it's better to have separate lobbies if only for the competition levels. most people wouldn't touch comp lobby if they weren't ready for it and the fact that newer players got forced with pro players and vice versa just made it messy because it was two different levels of competition meshed together.
The setups chosen that I've seen so far is equivalent to the ones that were also chosen in Competitive, except there have been uncommon instances like comping Sex and Lies and such.
I fail to see how things about that changed when it's pretty much a fact that people tend to play easier setups in both lobbies regardless of what
i said rude too many times but it's ok. i dont wanna edit it

I think in terms of making competitive more active, it kind of increased. Competitive players really don't expect much - like you don't have to be great, just don't ISP and understand the game. Bronto went out of his way to let newer players feel welcomed and kill the competitive lobby reputation. There's always mentoring for players who get yelled at. So I guess there's some good in it, but overall I don't like it. Like why couldn't they just get mentored and go into comp? It shouldn't be right in front of them before they do anything, it just feels kind of forced for people who enjoys red heart classic mafia anyway.
Another negative thing is the merge also made the mods want to comp less fun setups and more basic setups because of the newer players. Anyone who wants to play in competitive but is also new can always play the most vanilla setup available, because IMO if people want to comp setups with third parties or strange payouts, as long as it can carry the competitive aspect then it should be fine.
All in all, it increased how many people run now, but again Training is exactly what it is which is...training. You can train there and come to comp when you get better. Nobody goes to comp the second they get 1.5k(unless banned user)
no one in comp actually has a problem with newer players that come from training as long as they know basic game mechanics.
competitive lobby gets generalized so much as being rude and intolerable people just because they play the game at a different standard. it was definitely more intense there; people get passionate and serious and some insults might be flung around but hey, in what lobby is it actually all rainbows and unicorns?
there are rude people in training. there are rude people in sandbox too.
using "comp players are mean!" as a point for any argument is just ignorant and rude
On times I was on the games almost filled just as fast as it fills now. But then again I was on a long hiatus more than once so I don't know what happened around the time merge happened.

It always took much longer to fill a game in comp. ... what are you on about
The idea for me is horrible and we have even less decent players in a table.
I hated it in the beginning and I still do, but in the and if all you care about is having fun playing and try to be a little more lenient on new people, it's easier to get used to the change.
It's not really that bad once you start playing more and more again and accept that the community of people can change at any point in anywhere. It's not like we will have the same old players till the end of world. Sometimes changes just need to happen.
Well I see pro's and con's to be honest. Games seem to fill quite well (although not always, see later) and there are a lot of new people in comp, and a lot of them are doing quite well and are serious players. The atmosphere in gold heart games varies greatly, but when I compare it to the old comp lobby I have the feeling it's all in all slightly more pleasant than before (less of a 'peeing contest'/ shouting match). I also have the feeling there's a bigger variety of setups being played in red heart games, which I also consider a pro.
On the down side it still sometimes takes a lot of time to fill a gold heart game, because unranked and red heart games are started more often so a game drops down on the page quicker so you sometimes have to remake a few times, that's a bit annoying. And I also noticed that there are some times REALLY a lot of new players in comp, and although some seem to do quite well and/or are very willing to learn, some also just massively screw up and don't seem to care about winning or losing too much. However I do think that's the minority. And when you play a game with a LOT of new players it's also sometimes not really competitive but more like a usual 'learning game', but I don't mind too much about that myself.
Everything together I'm mildly positive about the merge, and I although I wouldn't mind it being split again (I don't think that would happen though) I have a slight preference to just one lobby.
It definitely was declining. The only reason (yes a very bad reason) I dislike the merge is because it's hard for me to find a party game with all my old friends. In comp, party had been declining but if there was a game open, I knew all my friends were there. Now I don't have that :[ But I did make a bunch of new friends from training/new players so that's been good and I'm glad about that =)

You're either in denial or you're a bad player if you don't think Competitive's playerbse was steadily declining, along with the skill level.
