There have been complains and what not. So I'd like to conduct a poll on the em public of whether most people generally support, or do not support the merge of training and competition lobbies?
Do you support the merging of both lobbies?

i understand, but is your life solely centered around epicmafia you had every game saved to your computer?
If you were to play games in competitive lobby, there would usually be at least one Edark or Shivv spamming and insulting everyone for every single thing that would happen in games.
In the current games I rarely see anyone playing as harsh as them. This might mean the amount of decent players have decreased, but at least it also means it's a lot easier and more relaxed to be actually able to play.

Training was the only lobby maintaining/growing its playerbase (excluding Customs). That was why I was against a merge: I thought the influx of comp players would actually damage that. I can't tell whether or not it has anymore, but the initial merge is over. Going back would be the worst of both worlds.

that's normal

Someone who automatically had every game that ever happened saved to their computer.

who takes the time to record stats for sandbox games
The main reason why newer people didn't come to Competitive is that people either had incredibly harsh style/rude or that it's way too harder to actually try to win for various reasons Smor, what we needed is the strict IC rule to apply way before than merge and things could have been slightly different
IC doesn't affect game activity in the slightest. Stop posting if you don't know what buttons you're hitting.

And yet there are approximately half as many ongoing games in Sandbox at any moment as there were a year ago.
Don't argue stats with me, Soda17. I've been here longer, recorded it for longer, and will smash your bloody face into the ground with a calculator.

If Sandbox keeps slowing at the current level, then it won't be long before we're back to a single lobby. Somewhere between 1 in 6 and 1 in 5 accounts in the Comp lobby competitions were alts when I checked up on that. This is significantly lower in Main due to most people not having lots of 1.5k+ alts lying around. The competition size has increased. But that isn't even what matters. There are more red-heart games than before, which is a good thing.
Competitions can, will , and to be honest probably should, die. They're the minority part of the website, and reinstating Competitive will only dramatically speed up that death now there's been a merge.

If it was life it didn't need, then y were comp players suggesting to alter training to " make gold hearts fill more." that's the initial problem that lead to the debate over the merhe
Comp lobby was dying. Sandbox lobby is declining. Training is going to go the same way. Merging them into Main gives a little extra life, but site growth has dropped below site dropout, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon. I was against merging in the first place, but going back is just the worst of both worlds. You made the bed; now lie on it.
I agree that competitive games definitely got a lot more life, but it got life it really didn't need. Sure the comp lobby declined, but to say it was dying is false.
