Moderation Issues

I've been trying to keep my mouth shut for quite a while, but I've decided to finally make this thread because there are a lot of things that need to be addressed. No one is coming out with it when several people have complained about this, so I've decided to be the sacrificial lamb and post on behalf of the entire community. And if I lose any chance of being a moderator and fixing up the site, so be it. I'm more concerned that we have respectable people leading EM.

Reasons the mod team is unprofessional:

Jericho, a previously banned user, is modded. He reported Caroline for OGI to spite her for their previous tension, without addressing the guy who actually GRS'd.

Vancy / Rutab used modding powers to find my secret alt, which would have been fine, but one of them then unexusably told many non-mods I especially did not trust that I was Flux. This is the only conclusion I can come to.

Kino account shared with a banned user. This is unexusable in any case. Not only should she be punished, but she should definitely not be moderating the site.

I have no personal issue with any of the mods, but it truly does seem that it's a bit of a circlejerk. If I'm not mistaken, most of the moderators are close or at least have a mutual connection. This is a huge problem and I think others should be given a chance to mod, since most of them are not serious about the well-being of the site.

Moderators are supposed to be our system of control. It's supposed to be professional work. This is anything but. If you are not going to do what's good for the community, please don't become a moderator.

this isn't a slight towards the mods but i've hardly seen any of these threads, baseless or not, being properly addressed. i know for certain that a lot of mods take the opinion that they need to let a thread die out or not get involved but sometimes i think their involvement would really help instead of seeing the same posters talk among themselves which eventually causes for the thread to derail anyways


that's a valid point. There is probably an equilibrium somewhere between my reactions to these kinds of threads, and current mods no reactions

Because most of us either aren't allowed to be mods or have zero desire to be mods. Or both, in my case.


I miss you as admin so much. All complaints I had about you were totally wrong, except for not catching pranay.

Because most of us either aren't allowed to be mods or have zero desire to be mods. Or both, in my case.

i'm aware of that but that's because mods are letting the community run them over like i've said probably ten times now in the past two weeks in my rant-filled paragraphs about the current state of moderation.


let's be real was it really that different when we were both there?


no, but it doesn't have to continue to be like this


unfortunately, people will always find something to complain about. especially with so many ex-mods and admins still lingering around, it's hard not to want to complain when you did things differently.

the real solution as i always say is to just kill the forums. nothing good really comes out of them.


revamp them so they can come of actual use instead of being a niche only used by a very small majority of the site



revamp would require sweeping changes to how people conduct themselves and there would be huge backlash. People would freak out if mods were willing to forum ban people lucid style.

i think you're fine honestly, if anything i like that you're looking to improve on aspects as a mod

most of my complaints aren't really towards mods as individuals rather the practices that have been put onto them
