Moderation Issues

I've been trying to keep my mouth shut for quite a while, but I've decided to finally make this thread because there are a lot of things that need to be addressed. No one is coming out with it when several people have complained about this, so I've decided to be the sacrificial lamb and post on behalf of the entire community. And if I lose any chance of being a moderator and fixing up the site, so be it. I'm more concerned that we have respectable people leading EM.

Reasons the mod team is unprofessional:

Jericho, a previously banned user, is modded. He reported Caroline for OGI to spite her for their previous tension, without addressing the guy who actually GRS'd.

Vancy / Rutab used modding powers to find my secret alt, which would have been fine, but one of them then unexusably told many non-mods I especially did not trust that I was Flux. This is the only conclusion I can come to.

Kino account shared with a banned user. This is unexusable in any case. Not only should she be punished, but she should definitely not be moderating the site.

I have no personal issue with any of the mods, but it truly does seem that it's a bit of a circlejerk. If I'm not mistaken, most of the moderators are close or at least have a mutual connection. This is a huge problem and I think others should be given a chance to mod, since most of them are not serious about the well-being of the site.

Moderators are supposed to be our system of control. It's supposed to be professional work. This is anything but. If you are not going to do what's good for the community, please don't become a moderator.

let's be real was it really that different when we were both there?

i feel a problem that epicmafia has been having lately when it comes towards how things are run is the idea that things are 'good enough.' sure, reports are being done at a steady rate but there are still glaring issues that i think are getting ignored and are easily addressed

part of the problem is that if a mod posts in a complaints thread, they usually will get continually berated. It really depends on who is making the complaint and what it is about. Some people spin their wheels, others have genuine concerns.

You have to look at it case by case. You can't blame mods for not wanting to enter a warzone where people are looking to chew them out for a mistake. Not saying this is every thread, but it happens often enough to turn you off from it in general.

i understand the mindset completely as a mod and honestly i don't need a vocal confirmation of the mods listening but rather i'd just like to see some progress because right now, and i feel like i say this all the time without disrespect to the team, it is very poor and things could be handled a lot more efficiently and cleaner.

are we seriously now complaining about the what the name of the complaints forum is?

it's more like the fact mods have it in their head that if it's moved to complaints then the thread isn't worth their time

i think it's more about putting it in the right forum. some people make legitimate complaints, some people make baseless ones - but they should all at the very least be in the right forum.
