  • -If Lightkeeper or Leader dies, Torchbearer can still see everything.
  • -If the Torchbearer is Fiddled, he can still see everything.
  • -The Torchbearer can "pass the torch" - convert himself into a villager to allow another player to see in the dark. This counts as a visit.
  • -Thief can steal the torch. The torch is considered an item.

Everything that the torchbearer could confirm, the mafia could unconfirm though. Some guy asks the torchbearer to say what he said. The mafia replies as the torchbearer, giving the wrong answer. That same mafia replies saying that he's right. That same mafia says that the real torchbearer is wrong. Some mafia spams like crazy, and then says "BLANK IS THE ONE SPAMMING". The torchbearer may know exactly what's going on, but he's the only one that does, and he'll have to stay alive through the darkness to actually expose anything useful. If the torchbearer is known before things go to darkness, however, and if there are whispers, the torchbearer could set up some passwords with people so that he can whisper people the truth in the dark.

It'd do a few other things as well. First off, it'd make Lightkeeper/Leaders be used much more often in setups, which would be nice because they're underrated roles. Second, it'd cut down spam, since the TB would be able to out the spammer. But most importantly, it'd be able to save the town from fakeclaims and trolls when the lights are out. -

Before anyone says "Well, how would the town be able to figure out who the TB is? What's stopping mafia from CCing?" - The TB can confirm anything someone says when the light is out.
