Surgery is one of the most stressful specialties to go into as a doctor, especially when you're raising a family and are on call rotation. A significant portion of your income gets cut off by malpractice insurance and around the end of year months you find yourself working non-stop back to back surgeries. If you went into Rads or Derms you would still be making mad money with a much better lifestyle. Surgery is one of the most fulfilling specialties, but I don't think many surgeons would brag about it given how hard they are pushed on a day by day basis.
