Strongly disagree with voisu. Assuming consensual sex (someone quoted a statistic earlier) men and women have equal hoice to conceive. But abortion gives women more of a choice to kill unborn child than men. Sorry to tell you but that’s female privilege, and theres nothing sexist about being pro life.
Welp guess me saying those words makes me a mysoginyst.
women have the right to a choice, not men, not anyone else
Jesus are you for real? Choice to do what exactly!? Are we honestly going to give women and STRICTLY women the choice to kill something that is ALIVE AND CAN LIVE WITH NURTURING because it is not to their benefit? Nobody asked for your biased opinion that certainly lacks both evidence and ethics
Her statement has a respectful tone and is not attempting to shut down ideas but calmly pointing out that this site isnt really the space for a discussion like this.
I think having a general tone of respect makes a discussion much more easy to understand.
I'm challenging you because you keep being disingenuous in your posts. she was not respectful, calling their positions "nasty", and 100% wanted the conversation to be shutdown because of the amount of people coming out of the woodwork with their "nasty" views.

Also I read the article, which seems pretty biased towards pro-life. This made me laugh though:
“I knew it was going to happen eventually,” Roberts told Faithwire. “I told myself if that happened, I was going to take it. Like Jesus. And I did.”
The guy that threatened & punched him was just released from psychiatric hospital apparently. So he has his own problems assuredly.

@SnowPuppy why is belief in god pertinent to this conversation?

Thundurus you’re right, the woman is more affected by having a child than a man is, certainly in this society. But I think the person most affected is the child themselves.
Totally agree, at the end of the day, i believe it is right to... god... "eliminate" an unborn child before it has any development and is in cell stage. We have to think about humanity here and not just that, a child that could breath and think! That's what it comes down to. I would not be happy if a president campaigned "freedom for women and abortion" because at the end of the day. It just includes another group of people, or should i say UNBORN people, being oppressed

If we exist. Where did we come from?
Dude save it for a religious topic. I will not contradict your beliefs but please it is not wise to use religion in an argument. B/c religion does not have facts, it's all just.. not facts

The passive agressive tone withstanding... Yeah you exist.
Im taking about your previous statement with regards to how abortion is less safe then childbirth. I quoted a study from the government source that states otherwise and I just asked for you to use the same competent sourcing.
I wasn't attempting to use a passive aggressive tone and I'm sorry if it came across that way.
In your previous message you quoted
All around us is evidence of design. Design points to a designer.
Genetic code points towards a coder."
So I thought you were responding to that.
Continuing on.
If we exist. Where did we come from?
I don't think god created male and female and put them on the earth.

14x more likely to result in complications from childbirth vs abortion according to that study.
SnowPuppy whether God exists or not may be the source of your beliefs, but is empty in that God is leaving the choice of abortion to us anyway.

Its sad that there are people who don't accept that a woman should have the right to choose whether or not they wish to have a child.
by "have a child", do you mean "give birth to a child"?
Yes.
it is sad to you that some people don't believe that a woman should have the right to choose whether someone lives or dies?
Abortion in general is always sad.
I think that contextualizing my argument in terms of someone choosing the life or death of someone else is wrong.
I think that ultimately the woman makes the decision as it affects her more then any man can imagine
I agree with you to a point. but you don't believe its ending a life. so why would it be sad?
No one wants to get an abortion, Its never a happy occasion.
why?

this thread should be locked tbh its nasty seeing these ppl come out of the woodwork and argue that abortion is murder

why is it "nasty" that people have a different opinion than you? why should the conversation be forcibly stopped? weirdly authoritarian.
I think that this just isnt the space for a conversation of this nature... I think similar things when I read some of the forum posts that DatGuiser posts about LGBT community such as one where he called it a choice to be LGBT
