Hello everyone! I would like to ask the people who are interested in this event to participate and contribute as much as possible.
In order for 2 new roles to be added to em, the community has to work together to refine the ideas that are going to be mentioned below. We have to collectively select 2 of the best ideas and make sure their version is the best one possible. The next step would be to come up with some sort of artwork for the selected roles. Lucid mentioned something about rewarding the users behind the artwork that would get selected in the end for those 2 roles.
Jack the Ripper (originally Hypocrite)
Jack the Ripper hates anyone who kills.
Jack the Ripper only wins when the game ends and all murderers are dead.
If Jack the Ripper receives a gun or knife and kills someone with it, he will not consider himself a murderer.
To Jack the Ripper, murderers are killing roles or any other player that has successfully eliminated someone else (shot, stabbed, blown up, etc.)
If a player survives one of these actions, Jack the Ripper will not consider the attacker a murderer.
(~Jennings)
Cat Lady
Chooses one player every night. The player is instantly alerted that a cat is at their door. They have two options: Kill the cat, and let it go. If you kill the cat, you are roleblocked and the Cat Lady doesn't know who was visited. If you let it go, the Cat Lady learns your role.
Sided with the mafia. (~Her)
Robinhood
Visits two people, taking all items from the first and giving them to the second (cannot visit self either way)
Action fails if trying to steal from a mafia
Sided with the village (~Torreador)
Vice President
If the president dies, takes their place
All townies immediately receive a message of their new president
Attends mafia meetings, and makes them anonymous
Cannot win if they are the vice president (~Alyssa)
Gossiper
Chooses one person every night.
Will see some whispers this person receives/makes.
If lynched at the end of the game, the last mafia can guess who the Seer is for autowin.
If the Seer dies, they will appear as a random (non-mafia) role in the setup and their will will always be blank. If dead, the mafia can still attempt a guess to the Seer's identity at the end of the game.
If there are multiple Seers in a game, only one Seer will know the mafia at any given time.
If there are two mafias and multiple Seers, the knowledge of the mafias will be split between them.
Sided with the village. (~Shwartz99)
Whistleblower
Once per game can force someone to vote someone else. Vote cannot be OT'D if it is a hammer. Sided with maf
(Will create more tension in selfing/hammering based setups (~Moldyches)
Soldier
If they are the last man standing against a single mafia or third party, the village wins.
Sided with the village. (~XFire)
PowerTown
Each night chooses a power role from the options provided to him. (the mods should determine the list)
Night meeting goes accordingly
Sided with the village
PowerMafia
Each night chooses a mafia role from the list.
Night meeting goes accordingly
Sided with the mafia
What is your favorite role mentioned in this thread?
The people in Graveyard don't see Night / Day actions, they just see the votes and the day play. The Mafia wont tell Town their partners so if they are resurrected they wont know more than the players in game.
That's why I think no-reveal or roles like Tailor are critical to setups with GY roles. There should be a fair chance that certain dead people who get resurrected might actually be mafia, so you shouldn't share everything with the dead.
I think that it would be brilliant in ranked. When Clown dies the living players swap their roles with another LIVING person from their group - so if there are only two Mafia left you know that they've swapped roles.
Well with the roles that can talk to the dead Exorcised person could just tell others what to say.
Besides the whole thing might just turn into a big tangled bowl of spaghetti. If you think about it the ressurected person might have so much info from the graveyard it could be overpowered.
Cause like cop still gets a report when dying, right. So does justice etc. They could just share it with the whole graveyard.
Am I the only one that loves the clown's role? lol I think it should be that, if the Clown is lynched, everyone's role is randomised with people from their group.
I personally find it funny that when I made that role it quickly became my most popular suggestion, yet sl0nderman uses it as an example of what not to make.
I agree with him, by the way. It's low-priority for me, lol. Would be fun though.

#5 - Spends days in graveyard. Can only communicate with village once per game #6 - Picks a player on the first night of the game, stays in graveyard until that player dies, takes over that players role
One more
#7 - Blocks players in the graveyard from reading the village chat until death

I still like the idea of a role who can destroy the "soul" of an individual from the Graveyard meaning that the individual has no ability to participate in any Graveyard activities. It could work like a Mort, starting at the second night they can choose any dead character's soul to destroy and that player will be unable to; talk to Medium, be ressurected, etc.
But that would also mean excluding them from the graveyard chat and that seems kinda harsh. I mean it might work in setups but just imagine dying n1 and then being excluded from the graveyard chat that you (presumably) had to stay in because the setup included graveyard related roles.
Soo that one poor person wouldn't even have anyone to talk to... I don't know...
They should be able to speak in Graveyard, but not have any ability to influence the game.
By the way, I don't know why my good pal sl0nderman hasn't yet reposted this in Main Lobby like I asked him to, but here's a thread that I find really useful when making and/or evaluating new roles. You might get something out of it too: https://epicmafia.com/topic/80958?page=1

.Investigates a dead person each night. .By investigating the dead person's body she will discover if the victim was killed by either a town member, a mafia member or a third party. .She will also discover the cause of the death. .If the body was cleared by a Janitor, she won't receive any reports. .Sided with village.
