I support this, don't crack and give in to certain ex mods pressuring you to remod them!!

I think if you build a team from the ground up who respect the adminship you will have much more success.

Old mods who aren't willing to change should not be reminded even if they were once good mods.

With the previous moderators leaking mod chats, we weren't able to communicate openly and that has added to the tension among the team, pre-empting this shakeup.

it's a matter of professionalism rather than secrecy.

Mod less on popularity and more on contributions made to the site. You should also actually take action on the people prying underage folks for nudes and whatnot. This is coming from a three-year moderator of a Pokémon forum who has seen similar things plague forums for well over a decade.

What this admin plans to do is obviously really bad for the site. Below is what should be done

1- have people with strong understanding of the rules and their application

2- have people with different taste in setups, different orientation towards the game, different likes, etc so that you have a kind of a representation from every group. This will ensure that there is always a healthy debate instead of a unanimous biased decision.

3- have 70 percent veterans and a few new and active players as mods who can learn from the veterans

4- do not try to do everything in private and decide everything by hiding from the very community that you are meant to serve. The mod team deserves absolutely no privacy in their communication. They should be heard by everyone but their discussions should only allow the mod team to avoid spamming. The option of privacy should be used in case the mods are handling some case with evidence that outs personal information of people and the user in question does not want to share it with everybody. For example if a mod uses a user's password to investigate something then that chat should be private.

I wanna know what is it that the mods really wanna hide from the community if they are working for the community and deciding their fate.

5- mods have never ever tried to solve issues from the base by talking to both parties and resolving the issues. They have always just taken sides based in their orientation towards the issue . If you go deeper and understand the point of view of both parties then you can figure out why someone is doing something or why someone is grudging someone or harassing someone and it could stop.

I know what these admins have always wanted

1- we have seen in the past that the mods and admins cheated in the mod chat and plotted against users to ban them. The admins want to have a team of friends who will not rat them out no matter what they do

2- by unity and trust they mean that they want people who will let them cut corners and do shady things and trust each other to keep each other's secrets.

3- by open communication they mean that they would like to openly express their grudge and favouritism towards players without being questioned about it.

4- there was tension amongst the team because someone exposed them

5- they want to build a team from the ground so that they can feed them whatever bs they want about the precedence, rules, guidelines, who should be treated how, who to listen to, etc. Basically they will just create their monopoly over everything and since lucid is not around, there will be no help coming.

6- they will never have any pressure from anyone when they are taking decisions. Earlier the veteran mods pressured them.

7- they openly admit that they do not care about the quality of the moderation, but only about their unity.
