Literally same. I’m not even gonna try to guess who the next dlc fighters are. Could be literally anyone.
All I know is I don’t give a shit about Geno anymore

Not an excuse but ps4 is what, 50 a year vs 20 from Nintendo. They still could have done this entire thing better as it feels very poorly planned

Although I do understand 60 is a big setback when almost every single title is that so. Pour one out

i kinda wanna get a switch eventually but holy crap why is nintendo so cheap

it'd be petty if i just said "fk sakurai fk nintendo fk smash fk all fans i hate this game cuz geno isnt in it" but i'm not, it's just me being burnt out on smash because of playing brawl so much and not really wanting to get back into it UNLESS geno is in, which he isn't.

i apologize if it made it seem like i was trying to belittle the game and everyone excited for it, i wasn't, the entire legacy roster coming back is awesome like i said. just me stating my opinion.

if i'm being honest here all of that was copy pasted from smashboards and two other online communities where i originally said it, i didn't write it just for here, just felt like contributing with my opinion in a relevant thread is all. hope u all love ssbu!!

prince i love you to pieces but thats kind of petty tbh im sorry. ive never played the game geno is from and honestly had to google the name cuz i didnt recognize it but nintendo can't personally add everyones favorite characters, if they did smash ultimate just...wouldnt come out.

i respect your decision to not buy the game but...complaining about this on an online mafia game forum is a little sillly, especially when everyone above u has been seemingly pretty excited for it...once again i love u and ur chill as but whats a friendship without some disagreements u know!

I got excited for Smash Ultimate, and over the months leading up to the entire roster reveal, I followed rumors and leaks religiously, hoping for a sign. Some real ones, some fake ones. Of course, once again, my dreams were crushed with the final reveals being completely devoid of my own favorite Geno.

So, that's where I am. Someone who's extremely burnt out on Smash, with very little interest for anything the game could offer aside from one single character, one who ended up not making it in. I can't deny that seeing the entire legacy roster show up in one single Smash title is pretty exciting, because it is. However, it's just something I'm not interested in personally, not without Geno.

All things considered, will I buy Smash the literal moment Geno is revealed as a DLC fighter? Absolutely. Will I be picking it up on launch date, or any other date in the future when Geno has not been revealed? Nope.

Hearing Geno's name constantly pop up was exciting. A matter of Square Enix and Nintendo finally reuniting after a bit of a rocky relationship during the PS1/N64 and PS2/GameCube era, a beloved character being brought back to life, you name it. It looked like Geno was finally going to be getting some love.

Now, of course, despite Pit (an obsolete retro character) and Snake/Sonic (third-party characters) making it into Brawl, Geno was nowhere to be found. Disappointing for sure, but Smash fans did not give up hope.

My main reason for playing Smash as much as I did during the late Melee era and Brawl era had a lot to do with hearing Geno's name around the speculation community, and even after he failed to get into Brawl, I still had enough interest in the game to pick it up and play the absolute hell out of it. As much criticism as I have for the game as a whole, I did put over 2600 hours into it altogether and there was never a boring moment throughout all of those hours.

That said, I had decided that after 5 years of Brawl, I would get rid of my Wii in 2013 and never really look back. I had decided to not get a Wii U, as I really did feel burnt out on Smash and didn't have much ambition to continue playing after all the time I spent on Brawl. Fast forward 5 years, I still haven't played Smash in any capacity since getting rid of my Wii.

Now, Smash Ultimate is coming out, out this coming Friday. Ever since seeing the E3 display bringing back the entire legacy roster from all 4 of the previous Smash titles with the tagline of "Everyone is here!", alongside the fact that Geno did receive a Mii Fighter costume in Smash 4, the adrenaline started to hit me again after so many years, over a decade now. Geno has a great chance to make it into Smash, and after seeing Ridley's reveal, his name popped up online like wildfire. Of course, this only strengthened with K-Rool's reveal as well.

I grew up in a Nintendo-heavy household. My sister and dad were both absolutely obsessed with the NES and SNES.

My sister had a fond obsession with two games in specific: Super Mario World, and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. I played through both games by her demand; SM World was fun, but I was a little confused about SM RPG. Needless to say, I still continued on with the game, eventually completing it. And completing it again for a second time. And again. After 3 completions, I had realized that I'd come to be absolutely in love with the game.

My family continued being a Nintendo one up until immediately after the GameCube, when my dad bought me a PS2 and I never really looked back. However, my sister still had a GameCube, and I would play it pretty occasionally. I eventually came across two of the best-selling games on the console: Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Smash Bros Melee.

As a huge Super Mario 64 fan, I loved Sunshine, and it was one of those games I completed via a massive binge spanning across around 4 days. However, the thing about Smash Melee was that I just had a lot of trouble getting into it. This was around 2004, and after playing the game for a couple years, speculation for the next Smash game, Brawl, had begun.

There was just one huge thing that I couldn't keep my mind or ear off of amidst all the Brawl speculation: Geno's name kept popping up. Now, in-case you don't know, Geno was one of the main characters of Super Mario RPG, and aside from a small cameo in its spiritual sequel, Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, it's was the only game he had had any part of (at least up until then, since he does have a Mii Fighter outfit in Smash 4).
