I'm familiar with the Paris Agreement. It's window dressing. It couldn't matter less. US policy on global warming will not make a large difference in the world. There are about 1,000,000 things to worry about from Trump before that.
We were making strides with getting them to care. This is a step in the opposite direction.

I'm more worried about Donald Trump doing something blatantly idiotic like raising protective tariffs because he really just doesn't understand anything.

India and China were part of the Paris Agreement.

Did you know that American pollution doesn't account for 1% of worldwide pollution? Even if everyone in the USA committed to going green, we wouldn't make a dent without China and India.
Donald Trump wants to pull out of the Paris Agreement, which isn't unlikely to cause other nations to follow. International pressure and cooperation is needed for the world to change.
I hate Donald Trump so you don't really need to convince me that he is a stupid manchild, I voted for Clinton.
But the Paris Agreement couldn't matter less IMHO. Nothing changes until China and India care.

I think we're about 15% in CO2 emission
In CO2 emission specifically, maybe, I don't know I'm not an environmental biologist. But I do know that without China and India fully committed to stopping global warming, absolutely nothing we do will make the smallest difference.

Does Donald Trump know that triatomic molecules reflect heat? No, no he doesn't.

It's not as if there's just a single switch and we flipped and now there's going to be X amount of damage to the environment and then it's over and done with. Four years of "screw the environment, let's be prosperous now" could be the difference between higher sea levels and a runaway greenhouse effect.
No. That could not happen. We have made a legally binding agreement to not do that.

electoral college: y/n
discuss
The Cardinals pick the president from among themselves after a week in a smoke filled ceremonial room
so does that mean Bill Clinton (arcbell) is going to be in trump's cabinet after being impeached?
what does that make us?

I'm just concerned about the ramifications of a government that seems very unconcerned with the environment and more concerned with immediate economic benefit. I'm hoping (and suspect) that eliminating the EPA is one of those things Trump won't be able to follow through on. But even if he can't, that sort of attitude certainly suggests we won't be taking steps in the right direction to prevent serious irreversible damage to our planet.
The environment was gone long ago. The last time I checked we're a good bit passed the irreversible damage point
I mean, yes, there is already plenty of damage done. But with each passing year we don't take action, we're doing more and more damage.
humanity is a scourge. this is a win/win in my book
