It is hard to separate a vote for Trump policy issues from a vote for Trump bigotry. Even if you purely support the policy issues, a vote for Trump legitimizes his racism, misogyny, islamaphobia, and homophobia. It lowers the bar for any presidential candidate in the future.

I harbor no contempt for individuals based on the culture they're entrenched in. There are problems with every culture, and it's harder to see them for the one you grow up in, which is surely the same for me in many ways.
But yes, I am under the impression that specific/by-the-book gender roles are more strongly enforced in more rural areas.
It sounds like you're saying they're raised with the belief that they should be subservient to men who disrespect them.
