Thinking about myself more in-depth, the reason I probably wanted to be dissociated from the cow gimmick was that I did not see myself positively. I wanted to re-brand myself as someone not-so-cow because I thought of my image as uncool and needed a change.

Now, I'm a frog on a lily pad with a better taste of music and a slightly more advanced vocabulary

Really the best advice echoed throughout the thread either directly or indirectly is just to relax and not think so much. Setting yourself up to be regularly in contact with people-club, gym, drugs, whatever-is a key component to building friendships. For me, this happened mainly in dorm communities and in clubs on campus, before that in high school it was mainly people in the same class but I did not have much option.

And people on EM really are much, much better than everyone gives credit for.
