haven't notice that u were socially awkward, but its really easy for me to make friends. i crave social interaction so i'm pretty much friends with everyone.
just analyze them and find out their niche, and pretend to be that niche and VIOLA you have a friend. just keep up chatting it up with them and dont ghost them randomly.
dont second guess what you do or say around people either and dont be afraid to express yourself.
i feel like people who have this problem needs to step away from the internet when it comes to making friends and being big on internet culture because i'm deducing that that fks up your personality. it turns you weird, im seeing it happen to people irl. once you distance yourself, step out of your comfort zone, be the outgoing person you always see and wish you were. embarrass yourself a few times until you're used to it and you'll be fine.

Hanging out and joining some charity groups in your local, have many nice activities with many interested people. They don't expect you so much and willing to help each other.
