At present, there are 20 moderators. Some follow precedent, some don't, but ultimately they all have their own benchmarks for what is or isn't acceptable. As a result, there are far too many flaws within the way this site is handled; from a sheer lack of understanding, to grudge driven decisions, to blindly sheeping one another upon request (this can be highlighted as my appeal has been hand-picked from the open reports and immediately sustained by Totori).
I was going to write up a large OP about this, but quite frankly I'd only be wasting my breath.
Bottom line is quite simply this - a 20 man weeb squad isn't going to bode well when it comes to website moderation.

Well, there were a few that luckily got in and couldn't deal with the community to be honest.
Also, about the current mod team.. I don't find them that bad (Even though weebs are annoying but yes, they're fine)
After being more than like 4 or 5 years old in this community, here's what I say:
There was rarely ever a bad mod really. There were a few bad ones but they're countable. What I mostly see nowadays is that people saying that a mod or two are bad because of a report they did wrongly or something that they stated or whatever. First of all, don't judge someone by one thing or two that happened in the past. It is really more deeper than just a report that you got the wrong end in. Secondly, instead of telling a mod that they suck and that they should be removed from the team, tell them how to improve. Just tell antikrist that they should be more professional when interacting as a moderator.
Yup, it took me like 5 years to figure this out. Don't talk to me about my history because I know that I've done some foolish actions in the past.
im like 90% sure it's just because mods are tired of responding to "i broke a rule but the rules are bs and you obviously hate me which is why i got punished"
i dont think antikrist's behavior is fitting for a mod and she acts extremely overzealous to the community in general. i can't really find myself as a member of the community wanting to respect them just because someone tells me to, especially when they don't respect me.
i used to be someone who thought professionalism was a wash on a website such as this but i think it impacts how the community views the mods, and i feel that most people either don't care or hold a negative opinion due to some of their actions
and while the forums are not a majority they're still people who care a lot more than the average joe who spends his time playing fancy pants and doesn't even know what hc is
everyone else i either really dont know what they've done or they're just report machines, and doing reports isn't everything about modding

basically mods need quality control and i feel that there's no repercussions being set and that mods are given way too much freedom to exercise their abilities under a jurisdiction of majority despite it being right/wrong

well i mean that's the issue some divisive opinions aren't bad but the mods act more singular than individual, besides yourself who at least spends time to respond to these threads
really from their perspective i understand because this is just another complaint thread and they aren't in jeopardy of being demodded if they do or don't respond to it, but i digress

reports are getting done, sure, but the amount of people right now it's probably hard to have a foundation of agreement, or people just agree with the majority and are afraid to speak up in lieu of getting singled out

i worry about the increasing amount rather than the fact they watch anime unironically or not
i personally disagree that the mod team requires getting gutted. having worked with every mod up there, they all have good intentions with their volunteer work.
the only visible problem in this situation (from what i gather from your post) imo was a lack of clear communication to you regarding the image/thread being IC. and possibly mods forgetting/ignoring/not considering your image IC. im sure everyone would agree that your image was not damaging in any real way, hence it being understandably left up, but it still has to go because of the IC situation we have.
oh, and your image was brought up in the mod chat before it was even deleted, so totori wouldve known all about it before it was even appealled, so they sustain looks like an "auto"-sustain
You can make the case for Hc. IC on the other hand.... Well...

antikrist was probably right to delete it, albeit possibly for the wrong reasons.
he said mods were aware of his thread and even posted in it, and it had been there for over a week. if it wasn't OK the thread would have been gone long before that, so he assumed (correctly) that antikrist deleted the thread because she does not like him and he remade it.

yeah, mods have specifically been told by lucid to be really really harsh on IC.
u probably should have been warned more "formally" but maybe when it got deleted the first time u shoulda like, PM'd a mod and been like "hey is this OK? can I put this back up or..?"
