So ethan couch, also known as the affluenza teen was just detained in mexico.

I know he's an idiot, I know he deserves to go to jail, but I cant stand the visceral reaction Im seeing to him on reddit and elsewhere. like people seem to be personally offended by him simply existing.

I'm not trying to make excuses for his actions, but he is very much a product of his environment, as we all are. And unfortunately for him he was raised by idiotic parents that didn't put any boundaries on him or allow him to learn that his actions have consequences.

I find it ironic that people like those in black lives matter are so willing to defend black people because they are a product of their environment, but shun ethan hunt because he's wealthy. quite plainly, it's hypocritical

Im not saying that he's blissfully unaware of them. Im just saying that awareness isnt the same thing as understanding. He's unable to understand that his actions have consequences because of the way he was raised

"for just playing beer pong" if he doesnt know the consequences that alcohol has and how it clearly impairs you so you cannot drive he should not be drinking in the first place as he is "still a juvenile"

you are trying to make excuses for him LOL, we all are products of our environment but we still get to chose the decisions we make.
you cant give him leniency and blame his upbringing, as it can factor in it is also on him, as he is old enough and is a cognitive young man.

furthermore, in his "environment" there are do not drink and drive signs everywhere all over the media and many other outlets so he KNEW what he was doing was wrong and as consequence of this he killed 4 people.
then ran away, so not only did his actions take 4 inncent lives he could not even FACE WHAT HE HAD DONE.
he is a coward and a murderer and deserves whatever people are commenting about him.
