So ethan couch, also known as the affluenza teen was just detained in mexico.

I know he's an idiot, I know he deserves to go to jail, but I cant stand the visceral reaction Im seeing to him on reddit and elsewhere. like people seem to be personally offended by him simply existing.

I'm not trying to make excuses for his actions, but he is very much a product of his environment, as we all are. And unfortunately for him he was raised by idiotic parents that didn't put any boundaries on him or allow him to learn that his actions have consequences.

I find it ironic that people like those in black lives matter are so willing to defend black people because they are a product of their environment, but shun ethan hunt because he's wealthy. quite plainly, it's hypocritical

why should he have sympathy? did he have sympathy when he ran away after killing 4 people and not giving the families he destroyed justice?
no, but I think we both hold ourselves to higher standards than ethan couch

yeah but i didnt drive, nor kill 4 people. he clearly cannot handle it and then did it again after the fact he killed 4 people lmao if u dont see that then im not gonna argue with someone who probably has an IQ of 55.
youre right, he clearly couldnt handle it. And he clearly is dumb. Im not denying either of those. it IS his fault that 4 people died. And he needs to live with that fact.

But punishment for the sake of punishment isnt going to bring those people back. there is a reason that manslaughter has less of a punishment than murder.
what are you trying to prove in this thread then? that people shouldnt have a right to get upset about this?
