So ethan couch, also known as the affluenza teen was just detained in mexico.
I know he's an idiot, I know he deserves to go to jail, but I cant stand the visceral reaction Im seeing to him on reddit and elsewhere. like people seem to be personally offended by him simply existing.
I'm not trying to make excuses for his actions, but he is very much a product of his environment, as we all are. And unfortunately for him he was raised by idiotic parents that didn't put any boundaries on him or allow him to learn that his actions have consequences.
I find it ironic that people like those in black lives matter are so willing to defend black people because they are a product of their environment, but shun ethan hunt because he's wealthy. quite plainly, it's hypocritical

The funniest part about all of this is the term 'affluenza' lmfao
"I find it ironic that people like those in black lives matter are so willing to defend black people because they are a product of their environment, but shun ethan hunt because he's wealthy. quite plainly, it's hypocritical"
you should stick to smoking weed and never stating your opinion ever, you're a jackass lmao
The same judge who ruled in favour of this rich guy, because his parents didn't raise him right, put him back into the custody of his parents and put him on (unsure time period) probation.
"He was a rich white boy so he didn't know that drinking and driving was illegal, only people who don't have parents with networths upwards of 10 million need to follow the law"
-The story a Judge who has put thousands of black people who use drugs in jail for years ruled in favor of
That first girl's bootyshake really isn't that great tbqh....

If this kid was black, they'd lock him away and throw out the key- cruddy parents or not.
so two wrongs make a right? as long as we treat everyone poorly, then atleast we're not being racist

I dont think I follow, slowbro. michael brown was no angel. Id also argue that if michael brown was white, you wouldnt have ever heard about him either. (not because he wouldnt have been shot, but because no one would have cared)

He should get locked up regardless of his race, that's pretty ducked up.

I like arguing with slowbro.
Sometimes you believe something, but you dont really know if youre right or if it's just because of the bubble you live in. So you bring it up to slowbro and if he cant fight it and just runs away, you can rest assured in your rightness
you are a white privilege basic weedlord. sit down.
is ethan couch privileged? I think most people would say yes.
but if he was black, no one would even care about him. they would have thought the judges leniency was a step in the right direction. so some privilege he's experiencing, huh.
