if it'll help you guys understand more, you cant just "do" something in america, there are a lot of checks and balances, which is why it takes stuff ages to get done. politicians are constantly discussing this topic and trying to come up with a solution every single day, you just don't see it on twitter. therefore, asking them to stop giving sympathy just because you don't see any immediate action, is downright silly.
again, stay in your own countries, worry about your own countries
Vilden seriously why are you constantly attacking me it is unreal. Just stop. Obviously I'm not demodding Devante. I can upvote a comment if I want and I don't need you using it as yet another reason to trash me just stop it is so petty I don't understand the need.
Devante that was honestly the stupidest thing I have ever seen you post. The point of asking for prayers is not to say it will fix any situation with shootings or guns in the future, it is saying that we should pray that the families of victims will be comforted.
.... Obviously Devante didn't think that the point of asking for prayers is so some god will magically fix these atrocities. That's exactly it, prayers don't fix problems. Rather than appealing to religion, politicians should take action to stop these entirely avoidable mass shootings. But the contention here is not that sympathy is bad because it's not equivalent to action, Crooks, the argument is that it's ingenuine and hypocritical for politicians to send *sympathy* to family members of those who died but refuse to use their legislative power to prevent more deaths by guns. The families of countless victims wouldn't have to be comforted if these politicians would stop blocking laws to prevent these deaths in the first place.
Unless/until you want to argue regarding the substance of gun control policy, these politicians' hypocrisy is irrefutably pronounced.
neither of you have given a solution since you obviously believe a solution is so easy to come by

the prayers would still be there, but THEN, discussions of whatever else would happen afterwards. and i'm not even sure why you even care why random people aren't saying more than giving their sympathy for the fallen anyway.
i never said not to show sympathy over the deaths, i said showing sympathy then doing nothing to change the problem is stupid because you're just saving face
well since it's so easy to come up with a solution, i'm still wondering why you haven't given a reasonable one yet. all i've seen so far are idiotic fairy tale solutions from you and everyone else.
