Competitive's current state

In this thread, I'll describe the whole Main Lobby Competitive with only one game.

Carbon14 Dawnstart:

My Role is Cop.

Day One: Town thought it was a good idea to NL 2 days in a row instead of using the Mislynch.

Day Two: Mafia claimed Tracker with me (Cop) visiting the Dead, so I was forced to out my role as Cop, also forcing Tracker to Counter Claim, so both power roles are out Day two.

Day Three: Tracker is killed, since the setup is the godfather setup, so Tracker is the optimal PR to kill...

So, Day three had: Cop, Godfather, 2 Villagers and a Confirmed godfather.

I told the town that the most optimal thing to do today is to not lynch the Confirmed godfather, and instead lynching outside the confirmed mafia today because we had a clear (Me), because if we just voted the Confirmed Mafia the clear will die and the game will be decided in a 3 Way no clear.

But town refused, even when I explained my logic, and they lynched the Confirmed Mafia.

Day Four: A Villager was lynching another Villager because I had an inno on a Godfather, and after the game ended he said that I gamethrew because I said that the godfather was my Village report. And then someone blamed me for the loss and said that the mafia was bad.

Because of this game, I suggest that we make the minimum points to join Competitive higher, something like 50k points, to make the trophies seriously worth something and 100% Legit..

And I'm not even joking by saying 50K points, it doesn't matter if the players who join are going to be way less, but it is better than having a meaningless trophy that is won because some people aren't good enough to play Competitive Mafia, which is why unknown people who do not deserve to trophy, end up winning a trophy even though they didn't do much all round.

so you want newbs to learn to play setups without comp players there to guide them, continue to lean on their own understanding in a vacuum , and expect them to know how to play when they get to comp? get real

also i have way more than 10 alts and i havnt played a game in months.

drake, the problem with training people to play competitive setups outside of comp is that he setups aren't the issue.

its not like it was 2 years ago when most of epicmafias population only knew that 4 roles existed.
The roles are involved in learning the game, which helps learn how certain situations turn out, so yes, it is a problem lol. The problem is players don't know how Comped setups work, so they need to play them in order to learn them. Which is what I've been saying.

And somebody get this guy and his 10 alts out of Main Lobby pls lol

i joined comp lobby the second i got 1500 points. had i been forced to play and earn even 10k points i probably would've gotten bored of the site and left so it's a bad idea.
No one is saying 10k is the definitive limit needed to enter. But it should definitely be raised some, and some new things should be done to teach new players how to play comped setups.

Which is why there should be a competitive lobby with Competitive games along with Ranked games that give you points towards playing in Competitive. Anyone who would want to play Competitively would have to play these games, and anyone out of hearts in Comped/that wants to play serious Ranked games would play these games.

or worse, you could have stayed in redhearts and become complacent... and when you had 10k points you would still be utter trash because you hadnt played in comp yet.

on a serious note, 5k is the max point requirement that would do anything besides completely kill comp.

the real way to combat throwers is to refund thrown games... has policy changed on this yet?

i just realized i'm still in YOLOSWAG on my first alt that got corrupt and lucid refused to restore to me.


lucid is 0/2 in giving me back accounts over the last 4 years lol
