I think the issue with that example Mist is that Santa Claus, Christian holidays, and their symbols have become mainstream in many countries. Once mainstream, they lose the religion behind them unless those celebrating truly call themselves Christians.
arent u guys tired of making the same religion thread for years now

are you sure? so does all morality stem from one visionary or what? i mean sure, society & by extension religion imparts values on all of us as we develop, but did it all start out with jesus telling us to not be such jerks or what?

"I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.."
Direct quote by Adolf Hitler. I guess it's up to interpretation, just like religion, ostensibly.
It is up to interpretation, and Hitler was obviously insane and in revolt. His was all righteous indignation. Probably because he was ugly and his father banged his niece.

i mean sure, we tell kids that santa claus is watching to make them behave. but you don't see people preaching that santa claus gave out coal for our sins.

is the idea that we're just innately moral creatures really so insane?
I'm gonna leave now, because Sonseray trying to explain life would be like if there was a change in society thousands of years ago is enough to make me chuckle for a while

Honestly, I sometimes regard the OT and the NT as like something of a con, the former to provide the threat, the latter to provide the relief. But I also think each are legitimate in their way. Again, they are fallen man.

Without Christianity having ever existed, the holocaust and the Blitzkreig offensive probably never would have happened. That was less than a century ago, a historical blink of the eye.
Millions died because of Christianity less than a century ago
if you're seriously blaming the holocaust on christianity you're a complete moron and i'll just lock this thread and forum ban you for your poor trolling attempts
Just because you don't like it doesn't make it true, fellow. Religion was one of many justifications Hitler used to brainwash his people. I can quote Mein Kampf for you if it would help you understand :)
And if the thread is 7 pages long in an hour, it's probably a pretty successful attempt.

Why wouldnt you say this to Lillin who called Islam a violent religion for the things ISIS are doing?
you can call yourself whatever you want. whether the church will accept you as a christian if you renounce the bible is a different story, but i think christianity is more about believing in jesus than believing in the bible.
What if I call the Bible a piece of art
it wasn't intended to be one, but i don't see an issue in interpreting it as a piece of art. i'm not a religious expert though, i'm just a dude on a mafia site.

Lmfao there is no way you can predict what it would have been like today without Christianity because it's literally impossible

People rely too much on religion to give them direction and purpose in life. It's alarming that people use that as a foundation for who they are and who they will become. The point in life is the fact that you are alive, and it is up to you and you alone to go forth and do something great or sit here and troll debate people about religion on a forum.
