I think the issue with that example Mist is that Santa Claus, Christian holidays, and their symbols have become mainstream in many countries. Once mainstream, they lose the religion behind them unless those celebrating truly call themselves Christians.

People rely too much on religion to give them direction and purpose in life. It's alarming that people use that as a foundation for who they are and who they will become. The point in life is the fact that you are alive, and it is up to you and you alone to go forth and do something great or sit here and troll debate people about religion on a forum.
