I have trouble knowing if Sirius is serious or not with his posts

They are all illustration of rather readily accepted psychology. The first is my experience, the others are what I can glean of others' experiences. Another one would be Sherlock Holmes turning his back on his father's brutish capitalistic apathy.

..........so we're all contrarians? I think I'm missing your point.
Not contrarians. We would just have humanity be a sort of absolute collective (see: Arianism). We try to pull the entire world into one (see: Alexander the Great trying to unite the world via familial relations). Cops' sons become crooks to bring crooks into the fold. They would bridge the divide. Morality is a self-serving lie. The best we have is love.
what
Basically all human interaction is a great battle between Neo and Agent Smith.

I think the issue with that example Mist is that Santa Claus, Christian holidays, and their symbols have become mainstream in many countries. Once mainstream, they lose the religion behind them unless those celebrating truly call themselves Christians.
okay but my point was that yes society imparts morals on us but is religion responsible for the existence of those morals or is it just a part of being social animals trying to coexist for mutual gain?
Ever since humans have been able to communicate with eachother we must have had some basic morality to be able to function as a group of gatherers. Religion created subjective "good" rules whom now is wildly accepted, for better and worse.
for the record if you're going to argue hitler's religious views, his autobiography is probably the dumbest thing possible to quote. there are so many other personal accounts of people he talked to that are a lot more insightful and didn't come from the man himself.

has anyone else noticed that at some point all of sonseray's threads become other people having separate discussions and sonseray throwing out wild, extreme statements and quotes to try and bait participants to keep responding to him?

Remember I showed you that thing I wrote about how we try to pull everything back into one? Morality is born out of that. It's not some innate sense of right and wrong; it's a conquering of otherness. Cops' son will be crooks. House M.D. was a doctor to his father's solider. Jesus Christ is savior to His Father's...uh....being a Not So Nice Guy.

Didn't a mod say that in the past before forum suspending someone?
"We demand liberty for all religious denominations in the State, so far as they are not a danger to it and do not militate against the morality and moral sense of the German race. The Party, as such, stands for positive Christianity, but does not bind itself in the matter of creed to any particular confession. It combats the Jewish-materialist spirit within and without us, and is convinced that our nation can achieve permanent health from within only on the principle: the common interest before self-interest."

The Treaty of Versailles caused the holocaust, but religion was certainly a factor. That's a fact, whether you like it or not. The party believed that it was acting in accordance to the will of God

is the idea that we're just innately moral creatures really so insane?
We're not.
are you sure? so does all morality stem from one visionary or what? i mean sure, society & by extension religion imparts values on all of us as we develop, but did it all start out with jesus telling us to not be such jerks or what?
