i mean, i dunno. we'd like to imagine love is just this thing....exists, or whatever. like what solace says. it's just putting someone else's needs before ur own. but that's not what it is. that's a result. maybe that's the romance one person takes in another person's loving them (which is kinda strange btw....think u might have like a slave fetish or something, solace =p), but it's not what love is in the person themselves...
i read the quote to say that things should be kind of electric. love without sex, or just plain old interaction even, be it teasing, joking, or whatever, is nothingness. it doesn't exist. the love doesn't exist. the love needs to be born out of something and that's sex, or, if u like, something after materialism. or same goes for sex without love. actually the point of the whole quote, i think, is to say that love is the only thing that has meaning, just love's trapped in the world of sex.
