Why not have two main lobbies?

almost 10 years

I see many people complaining about the issue that 99% of games on here are either classic, FP or Coco. Why not restrict these games to a lobby called beginner lobby or something and have another lobby for everything else?

but honestly everything is fine as is, people will complain regardless of what you do.

We get free snacks at my office, and you can pretty much work an entire day and munch without spending any money on food - people still complain if the snacks change or if we have unhealthy stuff. It's impossible to please everyone even when you do a nice thing.

maybe just list all of the games in the stickied lobbies on one page side-by-side so that mini-games can be on the front page without pushing down all the mafia. comp could have it's own 'stream' so that it doesn't get pushed down and will also be on the front page with red hearts, games, sandbox and survivor. you'd just have to mess around with the layout and shrink things to make it smaller so that it'll all fit neatly.

this is my new moderator election platform.

I can't even get people to go to the games lobby. People won't leave the main lobby

But it doesn't stop me from eating at KFC. and it shouldn't

Main Lobby is a good thing. Let the masses play Fancy Pants, just like how the masses IRL prefer Applebee's.

The thread is not even about competitive, I said it was doing fine. We're talking about a dominant setup.

meh i remember when i was new.. i was playing everyday all my hearts to join competitive

Sorry yeah I just realized it had to be gold heart so I deleted my redundant q lol

e: thanks for deleting your post giga so i look crazy

yes, of course - there's no way to measure red heart games

i mean you can call it the hollywood illusions effect, but it worked

competitive setups getting stale probably doesn't help with activity but of course it goes deeper than that

last round averaged 98.5 games/day, which is a massive, massive amount of activity. main lobby is doing fine.

is it even that bad? most of the people on the leaderboards recently have been new players.

well there aren't many older players around anymore

ultimately though it's not like you can promote the competition, most of the users here don't need or want it, that's just reality

seesawing the lobbies will probably kill things off more than it's already declined, and comp was showing a clear pattern of decline over a year ago - that' from numbers, not observation
almost 10 years
Competitive mafia is dying. Let's fix it by seperating the competitive lobby so new people are even less likely to join the games

yeah, i may just bring back the competitive lobby

Bad idea since it'll inevitably die, within weeks. Also didn't u say you'd never bring comp back lol

I really don't see how you think Classic and Fancy Pants are "beginner" setups, just because you don't like them doesn't make them "beginner" setups.

Just because they are the two simplest setups and the ones that will get you through the basics. They are great red hearts setups but that's enough spamming FP ffs. Nobody even plays classic anymore anyway.

it's a really basic, easy to grasp setup with a fixed meta. lends itself to creating CC's rather than forcing actual scumhunting. very much a beginner setup.
