Why not have two main lobbies?

FurioTigreabout 11 years ago

I see many people complaining about the issue that 99% of games on here are either classic, FP or Coco. Why not restrict these games to a lobby called beginner lobby or something and have another lobby for everything else?

all of those players were gone before the lobbies merged.

comp thrived for a long time, sgr. or at least a good while of how long i've been here. it definitely seems to me it'd offer em a draw it doesn't currently have. do u think intelligent people are going to come here and look at that ridiculous main lobby and think this place offers anything of value?
trying to attract older players is stupid, because most of them have grown up and got bored of the website. ergo why they left.

Splitting the lobbies is stupid, and it would kill the competition which is currently thriving; even if it's thriving with bad players.
it's not trying to attract older players bro. it's wondering where are the good players like used to be. oh, but i guess maybe it's just coincidence that maxwell, soben, duckhunter and extra are the best players who ever played on this site and they all came here around the same time, under the same site circumstances. it was just pure fluke that em got its best players back in those days and not now, nothing to do with the site layout back then compared to now

SGR, you need to establish a consistent means of communication, with me.

Competitive mafia is dying. Let's fix it by seperating the competitive lobby so new people are even less likely to join the games
maybe it's dying because unranked players are accidentally joining orange hearts which basically means we are playing red's instead of having a competition
comp is far from dying, last round had more activity than competitive lobby's entire last year of existence
that's because the lobbies were merged, slowly increasing the number of casual red heart players sometimes joining comp games because they're right in their faces.
If the lobbies were to seperate again the decline would be seen within a few rounds.
I'm pretty sure that's animegayboy's point.

he's wrong tho. back in the day it was more or less serious mafia or nothing. the lobby back then was nothing like it is now, and so drew a different crowd. comp lobby would draw that crowd again, if remade
Yeah, just like it did when Competitive lobby existed back in the day, or when Gold lobby existed back in the day.

Oh wait, it didn't. No one gave a . You could see all the tumbleweeds rolling around as it took half an hour to get a single game going, if you were lucky to have one up at all.

i guess i said comp **would** draw that crowd tho. i mean maybe it would

definitely there doesn't seem to be very many actually competent people joining anymore tho, so something's lacking

Unmerging is a bad idea and there are literally years of proof to show why it's a bad idea
