I see many people complaining about the issue that 99% of games on here are either classic, FP or Coco. Why not restrict these games to a lobby called beginner lobby or something and have another lobby for everything else?
cool. also he is not being sarcastic. the site has gone too casual and he realizes it
"tables won't fill" -- do a trial run then. this is an assumption based on how it was like a year ago. it's a guess and a dumb reason not to trial it
I bet some old users come back to play in a new competent lobby
it'll result in maybe a brief initial surge, followed by sharp decline
simple fact is segregated lobbies means eventually new players are stop filtering into the competition because there's no incentive to do so and the competitive population declines due to people getting bored
Competitive mafia is dying. Let's fix it by seperating the competitive lobby so new people are even less likely to join the games
maybe it's dying because unranked players are accidentally joining orange hearts which basically means we are playing red's instead of having a competition
The problem you are looking at is not the system, rather the people who use it
It's a lot easier (for lucid) to change the system than to change the people who use it, tho
We tried this system, many times.
We tried Training Lobby. We tried Bronze, Silver, Gold lobby. We tried Intermediate and Silver. We tried Bronze and Competitive. We tried Training and Competitive.
None of it worked. The problem is the playerbase. That isn't something that's going to change.
I believe Training, Bronze, and Silver worked? I was still sorta new to EM but I believe that was the best setup we had. The problem was later attempts to recreate it failed.
