I don't know if this is related to W10 or not, but I actually got a blue screen like error and had to shut off my computer. There was a bunch of :( faces and the screen looked kind of weird.
btw when u download windows 10 it torrents parts of your version of windows 10 to other users who are downloading it so it downloads faster for the thousands of people downloading it at once. For me it was making my internet noticeably slower at certain times and that's how i noticed.
if u have 10 and haven't turned it off yet: Setting > Windows Update > Advanced Options > Choose how updates are delivered then click the first bubble thingy from On to Off.
great, i uninstalled the touchpad thinking i could reinstall it and now the computer refuses to recognise it as anything other than a PS/2 compatible mouse.
Does your system still seem to be running as smoothly as it did before you upgraded? I've noticed quite a few annoying hiccups here and there and I'm debating doing a clean install to see if that would fix the issues. I'm just super lazy and want to avoid having to back up all my personal files on to another hard drive, plus I don't want to actually back everything up just to discover that doing a clean install didn't really make a noticeable difference.
immediately after upgrading my laptop felt a lot slower, and apps were not loading and running as smooth as they used to, but I reset the laptop and then when I started it again it felt a lot better. I actually am enjoying windows 10 a lot and it's a great improvement over 8.1 for me at least.
By the way; to those getting, or thinking about Windows 10; please, please, PLEASE know that once you get Windows 10, Microsoft now has the authority to spy on your content; at the moment I'm unaware of disabling it, but my older brother may know; it looks nice, but read small font. :)
Sure, these settings are turned on by default to personalize your user experience, but they absolutely make no efforts to hide any of this. Go to settings --> privacy, and you will see and be able to disable anything you want. AS you've probably guessed, Cortana collects voice data to better recognize speech, so if that worries you then you'll have to disable Cortana
I fixed it! I realized that the problem WAS NOT WINDOWS 10. I had my front and back panel set to different things. One was set to speaker and the other was set to headphone. I'm now reinstalling windows 10
