Round 278 Discussion

@Steven, maybe mods should stop "guessing" and only give violations for things that are concrete.

steven, how can anyone prove what reads I did or did not have. No one in the game in real time would be qualified to make a serious judgment on that, much less a mod reviewing the game after the fact. you don't have to verbalize reads to have them. Also, the moderator ADMITTED i was playing to win but still gave me a violation...how does that make any sense lmfao

Well it's really just a guess, in the same way that gamethrowinf is really just a guess. The mods can't get in your head so it's very easy for trolls and gamethrowerw to do it subtly enough so that they don't get violations. /shrug

Either way, nothing can be done about that

i was really hoping you were pulling a riotkiller by constantly inferring that arcbell wanted someone to be mod and you knew who it was but no one else did, but also that the person was you

that would truly be the best riotkiller of all

even if any of that were the case.... why would i be posting about it. and why would i think posting about it would benefit anyone involved o_O

still have no idea who ianclearweather is

well, that's who they are. that's it. that's the person's main, who has an alt called jesus. that is the person they are on this website.

A mod making the wrong case on a report is the mods problem, not the rule's. If the shot was taken with the intent to win - it's fine. If it wasn't - it's gamethrowing. There is no middle ground. No trolling. No need for a separate rule. It's gamethrowing, or it isn't. Simples.

Was it gamethrowing when OJ killed them, or was he over the hump anyway?

It's not pointless to me Connor as I've gotten a violation for no god damn reason.

To mods if you ever read this:
-jackattack123 admitted I was playing trying to win
-I am under no obligation to ask for claims d1
-I am under no obligation to not shoot d1
-I am under no obligation to out my reads in game

Given these 4 things what exactly did i do wrong and if you are saying I had no reads, how the hell can anyone prove that. secondly, i take competitive very seriously and would never GT/cheat/do anything to mess with the integrity of the game.

I honestly feel the only reason I got a violation is because people find this gimmick account annoying.

The only question that should have been asked is

"Do we as the mod team believe he really had no reads?" If so trolling

"Do we believe he did, and went against them?" If so game throwing.

I think that looking at it in terms of hipfire or not only confused things and makes people like you get wrongful violations because of the varying definitions of hipfiring. I think someone said something about people not reporting for "trolling via hipfire" but if it were up to me, that's what I would have a problem with, not whatever this is considered. With trolling being not caring about the outcome of the shot ofc.

poor arcbell

Who is jesus? or is that his main? does arcbell hate him?

jesus is ianclearweather. poor arcbell because he really wanted someone else in that slot, assuming there are no more. either way, it's one less slot to be filled by the person arcbell really wants

Did Eva Braun get a gamethrowing violation for marrying Hitler? No, because she was a trooper until he made her swallow cyanide. It was good strategy

kaylag arguably didn't hipfire, bill. this is why this discussion is so pointless to me

people are calling it a hipfire though, which is why it's an issue. the way it's used has too many differing definitions.

Hipfiring as it's commonly used can refer to shooting before claims but the user definition doesn't affect the rule definition which is shooting without reads. It's not an issue if the mods stick to that definition

we agree on what "hipfiring" actually is, i just dont understand how it's universally trolling or universally gamethrowing. you seem to think that you can troll with your game-related actions, and i think you can only troll with your words. i guess something like vote/unvote spam would fall under a mechanical version of trolling too but it doesn't ultimately affect the outcome of the game. i don't think trolling necessarily affects game outcome at all, whereas hipfiring always does because someone's dead.

agreed, which is why a separate rule that clearly outlines this instead of it being oral tradition would help, especially considering the use of trolling frames it differently for each person handling the report.

Did Rocky get a gamethrowing violation for fighting that Russian even though he was just an amateur who drank some raw eggs?
