I'm all for second chances, I screw up a ton and I'd like to think I have some leeway when I make a mistake. With that being said and in light of the new cheating allegation towards Sidekick, my philosophy with cheaters on this site is and will almost always be once a cheater always a cheater.
The reasoning behind this is because people don't just cheat for the fun of it, they cheat BECAUSE THEY'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. So what in the world would create a sudden shift in skill when the cheater has been banned for 6 months. If they weren't good enough to win a trophy 6 months ago why would they be good enough to win a trophy now.
There's not even like a real penalty to cheating, you get banned for 6 months from an online java mafia site where said ban can be easily bypassed by creating another account. Like there are basically next to no consequences for cheating.
Basically formers cheaters who come back and win a trophy such as sidekick should be under extremely heavy scrutiny and I know there are players that cheated before but have "reformed," but for the most part if you didn't have the skill to win a trophy in the past, there's really no idication as to why you have the skill to win one now.
anyways kylehlp the problem with your opinion and as ive pointed out is that i had 70%+ win over 35+ hearts and was on lock to win a trophy regardless when i supposedly started cheating.
I wasn't being sarcastic with the sure. There's doubt in the same way there's doubt anyone else is cheating, I suppose. You're taking it the wrong way considering nowadays I consider you as a friend.
You didn't need to explain yourself Kerry. All I was saying is that petri's thing was your second chance. Even if you didn't know cheating was "bad" or whatever, your chance to prove that/reform would have been with the petri thing, which wasn't the case. Something like "okay, I just didn't know what I was doing with adam, but now I do so I won't cheat".
I'm not trying to put the current you in a bad light, I'm sure you've reformed now. But I personally wouldn't say you reformed on your second chance. Anthony, as far as I know, did. (I also don't find your excuse that valid considering most other training cheaters would say something similar, that's what second chances are all about since by then they're expected to know better, but that's irrelevant cuz I'm saying this FYPOV)
kerry was originally banned for being a part of therOPERATION Leafstorm Terror Group
Not sure if she was also banned for that (she was simply already banned iirc), but I banned Enamoured for cheating originally (she had a bunch of anime accounts or somethinng like that). Ask her.
That's why people thought operation leafstorm was revenge for her being caught remember?
i came to the site because adam/mikami told me to join + because i had no idea what to do i listened to him + did what he said (claim cop as blue/doc) etc, or tell him what role i was. one of my accounts were banned but i had no idea why i couldn't log in and adam just told me to make a new account. when i learned the basics on how to actually play i let my friends know about the site and we laughed and tricked each other on skype in red heart games (without knowing the rules). when i got the report on me i understood that what we were doing must have been wrong + played the 'i don't know those guys' card, even though we obviously knew each other. cringe. and then operation leafstorm happened and that was fun but regretful from where i stand now (although i never did anything because i know nothing about hacking) ~_~

In the past, this wasn't such an issue because essentially I kept repeated cheaters permanently site-banned. Prevail would never have been allowed back, Sidekick I'm iffy on (She cheated in Training and got away with it because the games broke). Now that these rules have been loosened and pretty much any human being can get unbanned, it's become a much bigger issue.
It's like going into a convention or something just to mess around with it and ruin it for other people
oh you mean like when /v/ found epicmafia
yeah sucks how every single player that found this site through /v/ was a gamethrowing troll and none stuck around to play Serious Mafia for 4 years
does /co/ count

Banning ex-cheaters from running on secret alts is a fairly easy thing to do with no ill-effects on anybody but those cheaters.
And by non-secret, I don't just mean "the mods know" because the mods knew about Sidekick but still dropped the ball, whereas if the general public had known Faithless was an ex-cheater I'm pretty sure at least 3 of us would've investigated.

One could argue it sure, but I wouldn't agree
