post ways roles that are bad can become good

Journalist: differentiate between reports.

Janitor: erase wills. wills are pretty much the bane of this role.

Enforcer: instead of just preventing conversion (next to useless), prevent mafia from being converted and switch other conversions to traitor.

Paralyzer: give him two votes when he uses his power. it's situationally unlikely enough that he'll ever have a use for his power, the extra vote would help.

Fabricator: add keys to fab items. fab is already a good role, but nothing beats a false sense of security.

Lyncher: win on lynch, not on death, unless lynch is overturned. this would fix lyncher being unwinnable on tree/gallis

Siren: if siren predicts her killer, don't kill her. seriously. alternatively: drunk all visitors, in addition to killing if guessing correctly (which is still hard enough)

note this is the perspective of a sandbox player and if you play comp you might not agree because some crappy setup uses one of these roles and depends on its shortcomings

it either ends the game n1 or completely ruins clock any following night, ruins the whole thing

Snipers bullet should have a small chance to penetrate through the first target and continue to hit a second random target.

it just occurred to me how guiser can become useful:

1. remove will of guised unless forged
2. guiser dies as guiser (not as guised's role)

removing will is obvious but dying as guiser means you can actually guise a pr without becoming automatically outed

counterargument for that is that there are a lot of maf-siding 3rds anyways (fool/lyncher/CM/etc) so having more/better town-siding 3rds wouldn't be the worst idea.

thulu actually does win solo if it's the last one standing (thulu everyone so they can't vote, then lynch them)

yes but with an individual win condition that allows their investigative knowledge to be utilized in a non-binary way (i.e. if maf, shout blood murder, if town, shut up). you can, of other things, plan out a joint, betray the joint when needed, etc.

although here are a few ideas for improving alien:

4. give alien a second meeting to discover another player's alignment, which can be used to claim cop and eliminate mafia threat

5. give alien a villager suit (after all aliens need a disguise)


OR just simple it out and make it so that when an alien probes, they gain knowledge of the probed (that makes perfect sense to the whole lore of an alien abductor at least). what knowledge the alien gets is up for debate, though. it can be cop level knowledge, det level knowledge, etc.

2. start alien with a "phaser" (gun) which can be used to seal the deal when alien has only 1 probe left

3. alien doesn't need bread to survive starvation since it's not human (can be used in conjunction with 1 or 2)

It is sad that there will never be a way to fix alien. It will always be impossible to win as unless you cheat. And cheating in sandbox is just sad.

i don't think fabricator should be able to fab keys, keymaker giving keys clears himself instantly, fabbing keys would be difficult for keymaker to make himself clear since it depends on mafia to visit or not a keyed person


that's the point of fab keys: to unclear keymaker

keymaker shouldn't just auto-clear itself, he should become clear if his keys have been proven to work or agent confirms there is no fab (or mafia cleverly makes that false confirmation), just like any other role is subject to equal scrutiny
