Never Refund?

almost 10 years

Is this a policy? No matter how one trolls or ruins the game, moderators never refund it? Its this some god damn conspiracy or something? Why when someone trolls, gets a gt vio, and is suspended there is no Refund? Why no one ever gives refunds, if someone in the game gets a vio??????????

I mean literally, You are giving points to a winning side, that won only because of the troll/gt user :/ And you encorage such gameplay.

Why not for instance... Remove the player with violation Off the Round, and refund the game!

P.S. If someone gets a Violation through a round, i think its just fair, he to be removed from the round. I don't like players that get a GT vio for 24 hours come back after those 24 hours just to throw again.

The current bad guidelines that need to be improved : https://epicmafia.com/topic/61726

BUMB. Cos its happening again 20 days later, and nothing changed.

People still don't follow the rules despite saying they read them

For example tigerawr posted in the mod rules thread saying he read them. Then processed to refund his own games.

It would still be good insurance for mod verdicts if there was a page that said "click 'I Agree' [with these rules] to continue signing up" or something.

Why would you punish town for winning even with a handicap?

are you saying that putting mafia in a "lose or refund" scenario is ok?

Make them accept the epicmafia rules once they sign up?

yeah, because that will make people read them lol

Sure they do! You always read before you accept the terms and conditions.... right?

it's not so much teaching the rules as WHY the rules exist in the first place. like sure, trolls will still be trolls, but there are tons of people who just want to play mafia but do something wrong to end up getting a violation, and then think the mods are cods

True, but then we can use the "Oh, well you accepted that you knew the rules" and can feel better about giving more violations.

I don't remember it being refund heavy mid 2012. All I remember is EM being more unstable with a lot of crashed games back then.

And you're gonna have to do 200 reports a day
deletedalmost 10 years
if you refund games regardless of outcome, you're going to water down competitive level play to become very heavily based around refunds circa mid 2012

most rules are common sense but stuff like ISP and GRS are not, at least to a new mafia player

Well, I'm way late for this thread and we're probably on a completely different topic now. But I'll say my piece.

Refunds should only apply if the rule breaker was the main reason their team lost. Sometimes, the GT is blatant but it didn't have much of an affect on a game, these types of games shouldn't need a refund.

It would suck to, lets say, be mafia and the gamethrower didn't claim pr when they were being lynched on an ml. Great. Now you have to survive till the end of the game only to have the game refunded. And if you lose? Well that sucks, town won anyways why refund it.

If someone said something similar to this already I'm sorry etc

this was addressed before. SGR made the football analogy. basically, you should still be refunding those games even if town win

most new players learn the rules by either 1. word of mouth (unreliable) or 2. getting a violation themselves, the latter which would probably scare them from playing again
i think there's an underlying issue here of new players having no guidance. cough cough wiki

Put a link to the rule page when they receive a violation?

You'd think that most players would generally understand what is right or wrong.

Okay I probably gave a terrible example but I think you guys see my point

ya the rules are something that the mods point to when doing reports, rather than something people read before joining ranked games
