Never Refund?

almost 10 years

Is this a policy? No matter how one trolls or ruins the game, moderators never refund it? Its this some god damn conspiracy or something? Why when someone trolls, gets a gt vio, and is suspended there is no Refund? Why no one ever gives refunds, if someone in the game gets a vio??????????

I mean literally, You are giving points to a winning side, that won only because of the troll/gt user :/ And you encorage such gameplay.

Why not for instance... Remove the player with violation Off the Round, and refund the game!

P.S. If someone gets a Violation through a round, i think its just fair, he to be removed from the round. I don't like players that get a GT vio for 24 hours come back after those 24 hours just to throw again.

The current bad guidelines that need to be improved : https://epicmafia.com/topic/61726

BUMB. Cos its happening again 20 days later, and nothing changed.

http://epicmafia.com/game/3592219 was another one refunded last round after the cop hipfired the hooker. Sure, they refund if a hipfire gets the important member of mafia, but if they hit cop or BS they don't refund.

alternatively, stack tables with your pals and threaten to report trolls for lobby camping if they join your table.

as far as this topic goes, I think being too conservative is better than being too lenient, since lenience leads to more inconsistencies and allows more room for people to cajole their mod buddies to refund for them.

what rutab and others mentioned goes back to the daunting task of codifying the rules which would do wonders if anyone could be bothered to put time into doing so. It'd make everything more objective and clearly outlining what makes something refundable vs. not refundable, or the conditions that need to be met for a refund, would be better for both the mods and players.

honestly it's a thought in my mind but a key where you can disable someone from making reports would be splendid.

honestly this is a stroke of genius and i have just found a surefire way to lessen the amount of reports from users such as abc or someone who has known to abuse the report system

i asked him about this months ago and he never replied me regarding it.

Well, I'm way late for this thread and we're probably on a completely different topic now. But I'll say my piece.

Refunds should only apply if the rule breaker was the main reason their team lost. Sometimes, the GT is blatant but it didn't have much of an affect on a game, these types of games shouldn't need a refund.

It would suck to, lets say, be mafia and the gamethrower didn't claim pr when they were being lynched on an ml. Great. Now you have to survive till the end of the game only to have the game refunded. And if you lose? Well that sucks, town won anyways why refund it.

If someone said something similar to this already I'm sorry etc

This is incorrect, and I don't understand how this is the popular opinion. Trolls can be impossible to read because they don't play the game as intended, they say nothing relevant to the game and just says random stuff or chuck insults all game. If you don't lynch them because they are a just at roll, they would be called obvious mafia and it would be your fault. If you lynch them because they troll too much, it would still be your fault and you would be told to read better. This is unsatisfying. I'll ask the admin to look over this rule.

i can't believe you expect people to have the motivation play for a win they know will be invalidated lol

There's plenty of motivation when the alternative is losing.

Furthermore no one should be playing with the assumption that someone will get a violation that will put the game in the refund/loss scenario because the mod's judgement is what counts there.

Where there isn't motivation is exactly in the alternative you mention. No matter what the game will be refunded, so why will anyone give any effort to win. And then come the problems when it actually isn't refunded

i think if you explained why the rules exist, like:

e.g. if you don't participate then you aren't even really playing the game, and it's unfair to everyone else in the game who are trying to win. imagine if every game no one talked - that wouldn't really be a mafia game

then more people would follow it. the rules are an extension of sportsmanship and common sense, almost everyone follows them

none of the new users read the rules and they are in a spot no one would think of clicking tbh and do you expect anyone to ever read the TOS anyway?

Skepticism says

The rules are more simple than the iTunes TOS. : - (

EDIT: How about you make is explicitly clear and bolded in the TOS that users have to abide by the rules to avoid a conflict with using the site?

I don't see how it would hurt.

There isn't even a good amount of emphasis to read the rules.

There are neither many rules to follow.

I'm not talking about a business contract, I'm talking about a general rundown that is one page long.
