1) He'd always do the right thing even if it caused him a political headache because he's super anal about things being done correctly.
2) He's pretty smart so a lot of the time it comes easy to him.
3) He likes the site and the community. He actually likes this community. He actually LIKES this community...
4) He's willing to take up the job, and not just as a "oh wouldn't it be fun if I were admin" sort of deal.. he knows what it entails and he's ready and eager cos he's weird.
Hope this helps Lucid. Try not to let any of the trash talking PMs get to you this time.
No offense but why would you mod sandbox players /specifically/? knowledge about sandbox is not a vital part of being a mod but knowledge about main lobby is.
Anyone can be taught and there's some players in sandbox I'm sure who would do great (I mean I haven't heard anyone complain about kino for example) but /specifically/ push for sandbox? What's to gain from that?
I'd push for the people that know the rules best already so as to minimize the need to teach things and errors in reports, and that's (generally but not always) main people. Ex-comp players also have the benefit of knowing more of rule precedents and whatnot, which is something that mods have trouble teaching new mods cuz sometimes they don't remember all of them themselves

Vancy left for like 2 years, so he wasn't very well known when he came back. I remembered him and asked him to mod when I saw he'd been back for a while.

speaking of mod treasure kino has turned out to be really good and that's cool a sandbox mod can own so much tbh
i just dont know about filling the whole team with just sandboxers, there kinda needs to be a balance

Go into random red heart & unranked games and actively scout for people. There are always plenty out there. And if there aren't, then EM is pretty much dead.
vancy's always been a decently known dude, I think. he was around for most of em 2.0

If I were a standard, non-running, Main lobby player, I'd never apply either. When people like you never get modded, why would you bother to try?
I headhunted people who weren't very well known at the time (eg. Dezeriae, Ucklar, Vancy, lluren, Ediz12) and asked them explicitly. Usually they accepted.
Sure, you got the occasional duff ones, but then you just toss them aside and look for the next hidden treasure.
