Funny thing is, Smalling would be Liverpool's best defender by far. Toure is past it, Skrtel is reckless, Lovren is mid table standard and Sahko has no positional sense whatsoever. Glen Johnson and Moreno are Liverpool's only good defenders and they are full backs.

If Liverpool had the team they had last season, but with Carragher and Hyypia as the center back pairing, they would have walked the league.
